5.0 out of 5 stars A Transformed Man
I cannot recommend this book more heartily. It transformed my husband from a bachelor who happened to have a wife and child to a godly, loving, servant leader of our home. This book drove my husband directly to the Word of God where he was challenged to rise to the calling of Biblical manhood. I, his wife, am reaping the benefits of this transformation, the recipient...

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent, but not outstanding
Our small group went through this book as a three month study. Overall, I felt that the author had good intentions and principles, but IMHO the book was poorly written and organized. On the positive side, Weber's section on the "King pillar" was for the most part quite strong and provided good application to me as a man.

However, the other pillars were not...

I cannot recommend this book more heartily. It transformed my husband from a bachelor who happened to have a wife and child to a godly, loving, servant leader of our home. This book drove my husband directly to the Word of God where he was challenged to rise to the calling of Biblical manhood. I, his wife, am reaping the benefits of this transformation, the recipient of his tender leadership, his protection and provision, his prayers and undying love.

5.0 out of 5 stars For Any Man Ready To Grow Up!, November 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Four Pillars of a Man's Heart: Bringing Strength into Balance (Paperback)
I'm not even married and I found this book amazingly helpful in being the man that God wants me to be. Stu Weber has done a fantastic job showing not just what God wants us to be, but what the world has made us into. As I read this book I was encouraged in areas that I already prospered in, and I was convicted in areas that I was failing in. I was only twenty when I read it and I recommend it to those who are serious about "playing the man", and those who need to. God has used Stu Weber to get men back on track to Godly virtues and family values.

Our small group went through this book as a three month study. Overall, I felt that the author had good intentions and principles, but IMHO the book was poorly written and organized. On the positive side, Weber's section on the "King pillar" was for the most part quite strong and provided good application to me as a man.

However, the other pillars were not nearly as good. Some chapters seemed to be a string of sob stories without a particular point. I'm sure the author was attempting to stir up some sort of emotion, but the application and substance was sorely missing. Additionally, Weber tended to inject his political viewpoints into the book quite a bit. I'm very conservative by nature and even I thought he was a little heavy handed with the propaganda. Considering the glowing reviews on Amazon, I expected a little more from the book. I can't say that I recommend this book as group study, but it may be worthwhile to those who like his style.

This book was recommended by a friend and it turned out to be the best men's book I have ever read, organizing a man's life into the four roles he fills. Mr Weber also does a great job in
showing what happens when those pillars become unbalanced.
Recommended for all men!

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn to be a Man's Man, October 11, 1999

The author challenges you in the four areas that make up the model man. To become a better man effects both the culture outside the home and especially in the home. In a world of confusion, the author offers simple biblical principals to balance these four pillars of a man's heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn to be the man God designed you to be !, August 1, 1998
This is one of the greatest books that any male could ever read. This book is full of easy to understand explanations to being the man we are designed to be. Mr. Weber has changed my life and that of my family forever. This book should be required reading for all males of all ages. This is a spiritual awakening that only comes from truths. I highly recommend this book, and will be sharing it with all those that are looking for a breath of fresh air in this sometimes stagnant world we live in.

We took 40 high school boys through this book for a whole academic year for mens' small group while our girls went through Kay Arthur's Someday Marriage Without Regreats. Not only was it a very well balanced study for the year, the book itself (Four Pillars) proved to be well balanced in its approach to manhood, fatherhood, husbandhood, friendship and more. A great challenge for young men aspiring to be GREAT men.

Stu Weber is a very good author and a great man of God. He knows what it means to be a real man. An Army Ranger who knows where his manhood comes from. This book is very good for any man who needs a balance in his life. Men shouldn't be a facist dictator or passive pushover. I recommend this book for any man who wants to know what it means to BE a real man.

Stu Weber has placed words of encouragement in this book. He redefines the true nature of what we believe to be real man. In this book he is transparent about many diffrent things in his journey as king, warrior, mentor and friend. A joy to read for any man who is working on his core (his heart). I would recommend this book to any and all who are looking for somewhere to start or continue to deepen their walk as a Christian.
