About the Author

Yukio Ohyama began his professional career in 1972 by specializing in photographing steam locomotives. In 1976, he began taking photos of Mt. Fuji; and in 1990, he built his own domed house at the foot of the mountain. He is considered one of Japan's foremost photographers of Mt. Fuji.

Shigeki Yamashita established a public relations photo agency in 1987. In 1996, he began focusing on nature and scenery. In the same year, he spent 100 days camping out in a car and shooting the different faces of Mt. Fuji.

THIS BOOK IS REALLY OUTSTANDING, BECAUSE IT FEATURES SOME FINE PHOTOGRAPHS OF TWO OF THE MOST FAMOUS AND ACCLAIMED PHOTOGRAPHERS OF MOUNT FUJI. ALSO THE TEXT OF THE CONTRIBUTING EDITOR IS RICH IN DETAILS. THE GENERAL LAYOUT AND THE QUALITY OF THE PRINTING ARE NOTEWORTHY, GIVING THE READER AN IMMEDIATE VISUAL IMPACT WITH THE BEAUTY OF THIS MOUNTAIN. MAYBE THE TITLE OF THE BOOK AND OF THE PARAGRAPHS WRITTEN ALSO WITH IDEOGRAMS WOULD HAVE ADDED AN EXTRA OF JAPANESE TASTE TO THIS WORK. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT TO ALL THE PEOPLE INTERESTED IN JAPAN AND IN PHOTOGRAPHY.
