I guess 'Weak' is out of print, which is a shame b/c that was their best. Thus this album is the best Seaweed in print. Almost as good as its predecessor, which still makes it one of the best CDs of the nineties. Heavy guitars, intelligent lyrics, powerful vocals, fluid songwriting, and high energy make Seaweed one of the best overlooked bands of all time.

at a time when all we knew was grunge and seattle and matt dillon playing a rocker dude, it's strange that one of the most powerful and creative bands of the time barely got recognition. this album, also from the washington area, is brimming with ultimate catchy riffs, fast paced punk leading into great choruses and melodic breakdowns. this album is really, really good. seaweed meant alot to me when i was younger, but upon hearing them again i would have to say they are timeless. all the riffs are catchy and the variety of song styles is perfect while maintaining their drive and emotion. the lyrics still make sense and are delivered sincerely. Seaweed's music strays from the typical sludgy manifestation of grunge rock like soundgarden and nirvana and instead focuses more on dynamics and melodies. the result is somewhere between quicksand and jawbreaker. ultimately hard to pigeonhole, but wholly unique and enjoyable. i would also agree with the others below me that this is the album you should own of all their albums. the previous album was also good. but this one in particular is good straight through. they should have been as big and influential as nirvana. but i'm biased, ce la vie.

"Four" is old school hardcore refined and polished to a gleaming, pop shine.

This album got Seaweed a major label contract. Kid Candy made it to MTV.

Seaweed was emblematic of the bright moment for American alternative music between '89 and '94. Stephanie OD'd, Mia was murdered, Kurt killed himself, and people decided that the Northwest musical aesthetic wasn't happy enough, I guess. Bring on Weezer!

Tacoma produced Seaweed, Girl Trouble, Botch, Neko Case, and The Mexican Blackbirds. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

This is yet another one of several strong releases from this band.Unfortunatly a very underated band.Grunge was become the big hit out of Seattle but Seaweed stuck with a sound that has worked great for them.A good album to pick up, good songwriting and good sound.

the first time i ever heard of this band is when i saw the video for "kid candy" on beavis and butt-head. right away i realized that this video was shot in a park two blocks from my house. i first found spanaway at tower records back in about '95. i have been a fan ever since. i also knew the lead singers father because he was the swim couch at my old high school. i wish they would come back together and give fame another whirl because with some of the music out there now, everybody could use some seaweed treatment

Seaweed had the unfortunate tag of grunge because
they happened to be on sub pop at the "right time"
they do more pop,sing-along punk ( think pegboy.)
catchy tunes that stick with ya through the day.
buy this with weak and you're set.

This is the Seaweed album that everyone should listen to. It's their pivotal work between THEIR era and the latter half of their troubled 90's. Songs like Losing Skin, Kid Candy and In Fainess are great hard-rockin' masterpieces that explode with their (and our) generation's disappointments and mistrust, and it harbors only a couple of the songs one is expected to pretty much ignore, the least out of any other album. Of all the music I've bought of them, This is the once and future classic. Spanaway is good too, but doesn't even get close.

i like this group & this CD is a plus. buy it before their gone forever.

If you're a snowboarder or skateboarder, you're going to love this band. One of my all time favorite bands ever. This is coming from someone who's been in bands and opened for Merauder, 25 ta Life, Life of Agony, Biohazard and Clutch. I'm all about heavy music but these guys are amazing..! You'll love Seaweed and FOUR is by far their best album...!
