5.0 out of 5 stars Pure genius, March 1, 2001

One of the very best albums you'll probably ever here! The first thing that you'll notice when you here the Cd is that all the songs are amazing, you won't want to ever take it out of your Cd player. The Cd kicks off with "Pain", a very rocking yet emotional song, you'll just get so carried by the melody guitar part in the verses, it's so addictive it shouldn't be legal! "Shadows" also has a great riff, and catchy sing-a-long chorus, a simply magnificent song. The third track, "Sway" is my personal favourite, the drum fills will have everyone doing their best Keith Moon impression. Then onto "Liar" another rocking track, so air guitars at the ready! "Tied up" is the penultimate song and, another great intro, and chorus will keep everyone happy. The Cd is rounded of with "Fate" a very meaningful song, which has the best outro to any song I have ever heard, it's a lot slower to start off with but gathers momentum, and flows nicely. The Cd is well worth the investment, and if you don't already have "Thrown to the Wolves" you'll be ordering that too, as this Cd just leaves you longing for more! Anyone into guitar based music will love it, so order it, and set your Cd player to repeat!

I first heard the band on "Buffy the vampire slayer" and for a few seasons, alot of their music could be heard on the show. With groups like Our Lady Peace, Good Charlotte, and Puddle of Mudd being blasted on the radio, I have no idea why Four STar Mary isn't among them. Maybe poor promotion...I don't know. But if you like those other groups, then you should enjoy Four Star Mary. This EP is especially great with songs like "pain", "Fate", and "liar". They have that catchy modern rock/pop sound that people seem to catch onto these days. Check them out...

These guys rock. The show BTVS could not have picked a better band to be the shows featured act by way of "Dingos Ate My Baby".

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Band, July 30, 2000
This review is from: Four Star Mary (Audio CD)
I just saw these guys live last night at Billy Gordon's in Tempe, AZ. Originally I went to watch my fave band Stone Bogart, but was THOROUGHLY impressed with the music, lyrics and on-stage presence of FSM. And the fact that Dave took his shirt off was an added bonus! I can't wait to see them live again, but am purchasing both FSM and Thrown to hold me over until then!

Tad has the most amazing voice. Listening to the CD gives you energy and love to music. My favorite songs from this CD are "Run", "Pain", "Dilate", "She knows". I promise you that you will see their faces and hear their music everywhere in the US oneday. They give you the right taste of today's music. This CD is so great. My favorite show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer, so when I found out that Four Star Mary was the back up group for Dingoes Ate my Baby, I ran out an bought the CD. I recommend getting Four Star Mary's "Thrown to the Wolves" CD. "She Knows" is a great song!! But the best of all is "Pain".

5.0 out of 5 stars what a rock album should sound like, October 11, 2000

As I said in the title this is what a rock album should sound like. The album has some great songs like "Pain" and "Sway". The only negative is that they only have 6 songs, which left me wanting more. Which is why I bought the second cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Four Star Mary RULES!, July 26, 2000
This review is from: Four Star Mary (Audio CD)
Not many people in the U.K. have heard of them unless they watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer but these guys are the best! Their lyrics and beats are the best I've evr heard! If you wan thte latest sounds buy their new album Thrown to the Wolves. ADVICE: Always check the track listing for the CD in a number of different sites because some sites try to cut songs and sell it to you for the same price as it would be if it had the songs on it.

Four Star Mary, known to fans of the Buffy TV show as "Dingos Ate My Baby", really hit it with this album. Solid guitars and smooth, sensitive lyrics make this definitely worth a listen!
