The great thing about this book is that it is straightforward and easy to put into practice. Oftentimes, people can get caught up in their diet/exercise plans and start to become obsessive about calories or over analyze things. This book makes you look at weight loss and healthy living from the big picture - you don't need to obsess about calories, or obsess about cutting out carbs, or obsess about your exercises. The author brings you back to the basics of losing weight and getting into shape - to lose weight you must eat from the earth, cut out junk, and increase your activity, and she shows you the best and most efficient ways to do that. Four Weeks to Fabulous provides a great menu plan that includes wonderful foods that don't make you feel like you are on a diet, and shows you that you can eat carbs and "yummy" foods and still lose weight - and she's not starving you to do it! It's more of a lifestyle change and becoming healthier and losing weight the right way, so that it will be a lasting weight loss. The book also includes a great fitness routine for the busy person, one that is straightforward and not so complex that you realistically can't stick with it.

This is a great little book for people at all fitness levels, but especially friendly for those just beginning or re-starting their journey to better health. The first section is loaded with delicious, easy to prepare recipes and menus, even a shopping list--ideally suited for today's on- the-go lifestyle. The activity section is straightforward and begins with a simple cardio plan to achieve baseline fitness before beginning the Four Weeks to Fabulous activity routine. Burron's section on strength- training is my favorite part of the book. Each exercise is accompanied by a color photo of the author demonstrating correct form for each exercise--OUTSIDE! How great is that for those who think they need to be in a gym to strength train. I highly recommend Four Weeks to Fabulous to all personalities who are ready to take control of their weight and health, and need a handy resource to help them "cut to the chase."

This latest project by health and wellness guru Alice Burron is exceptional! It provides absolutely everything a person needs to get started on the right track AND then stay on that track. In addition to being straight-forward and easy to understand, the book provides very specific advice covering everything from nutrition to exercise. And, it includes a critical component that most books (that try to be similar to this one) neglect - the inner voice. She provides practical ways to replace the negative thinking that plagues so many in their efforts to live a healthier lifestyle with words that will support your efforts. That section alone is worth the price of the book!

Our company works with thousands upon thousands of people everyday to help them live healthier lives. Four Weeks to Fabulous is among the best I've ever come across in helping people bridge the gap from "I'd like to..." to "I am now..."

Don't waste your time. If you're looking to get on track with your health in the midst of a busy schedule, you won't find a better resource to help you get there than this one.

I love that this book doesn't mislead with empty or unsustainable promises: It gives you a realistic, maintainable goal and then clearly outlines how to attain it. It has sample menus that consist of easy-to-obtain ingredients, exercises that are clearly illustrated with photos, and an encouraging and motivating approach to how to "put it all together." I also like that it's a very quick read. I don't have time to labor through a 200-page diet and exercise book. This book lays it out in an easy-to-read format. The chapters are clear and make things simple enough for busy people--just as I'd hoped! No fads or pie-in-the-sky promises here...This book makes me feel like I'm off to a good, healthy start. I can't wait for Burron's next installment!
