5.0 out of 5 stars fighting story, December 13, 2011

This review is from: Four's a Crowd (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (8x8)) (Paperback)
Leo and Raph get in an argument, like they do a lot in the series. Always arguing over who could be a better leader or just fighting about not wanting to go along with Leo's battle plans. Raph wants to do things his way. So he splits off to get some air, then there's a break in at a bank by the Foot clan and Hun. The turtles go to break up their plans, and get into trouble, being locked in a vault.

Splinter sees what happens and tries to call Raph to help them. It's not seen that Splinter gets through to him, because Raph was so mad that he wouldn't pick up his phone. But in the end, Raph comes and frees his bros out of the vault. They nearly ran out of air. But if any creature could 'save it's breath,' turtles could do it.

The family fights the Foot, and saves the day, and the bros make up. Raph realizes what it means to be part of a team. Because sometimes the only way to get things done better is to be part of a team than being on your own.

This review is from: Four's a Crowd (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (8x8)) (Paperback)
This book starts out with Raph not following Leo's way of doing things and they get into their usual disputes on who should lead / who is right / who is the boss (the usual underlining issue between them boils down to who is the real alpha male in their small bale of a terrapin family). Raph leaves to blow off steam meanwhile Don alerts the others that Hun and his goons are robbing an art museum. The three Turtles try to stop Hun, but without Raph to back them up, Hun gets away and locks them in a vault. Splinter sees his sons in danger from Don's monitors back in the Lair and calls Raph to help them.

Raph doesn't answer and the other Turtles are running out of air in the vault. But Raph does rescue them just in time and they make up (all seems forgiven between Leo and Raph). I think this is why they are made to fight in the first place since it's so sweet when they 'forgive and forget'. Which is something that happens in most families and makes the bond stronger.

Splinter points this out on the last page of the book and I'm fairly sure that's what they are trying to tell you here. Stick with your family no matter the squabbles, a very good lesson/advice. The family bond with the Turtles is extremely strong and I think that's one of their biggest appeals in general.

Good book with pretty good art, plus well written for the young ones. Highly recommended.
