Cynthia Harrod Eagles has written a wonderful series with Bill Slider! Great plot lines, and a gripping backstory with Bill and his girlfriend's ongoing relationship. I wish the series would go on forever. Give it a try! You'll be glad you did.

The Bill Slider novels are excellent as a rule. The wordplay, and especially the quality of the ongoing characters and their relationships are second-to-none. The mysteries themselves, while always okay, tend to be forgettable. In this, the fourth "omnibus," the two mysteries are excellent, perhaps the most imteresting yet, and I would heartily recommend them to mystery lovers. As a rule, though, start with the beginning novels and work your way through. You won't regret having done so!
