Great album reissue by the great band .Harry Conklin was back on Vocals on this one.He is a great singer that sing in a vein of Dio ,Dickinson and even reminds me bit of John Arch. Music on this one reminds me on 80'Metal with lots of Riffs and their first album Ample Destruction, witch is by the way one of the best Metal albums of all times!Great Metal,go pick this one up!

This is a great album of true power metal, along the likes of HammerFall and Iced Earth. If you like either of those bands, check this CD out, it's got GREAT vocals courtesy of Harry "Tyrant" Conklin and awesome guitar leads. I especially like "Future Shock" and "Black."

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Stuff, May 28, 1999

For fans of iced earth, metallica, king diamond and blind guardian, you cant go wrong here. Harry conklin has a nice dickinson-esque voice, and the songs are hard rocking but melodic with nice guitar solos. I saw these guys live with iced earth and destiny's end in denver and it rocked hard!

4.0 out of 5 stars Get your trad metal freaky on..., May 19, 2011
This review is from: Fourth Judgement (Audio CD)
The name Jag Panzer will forever be synonymous with the seminal Ample Destruction from the mid 80's - a record that in some respects is the definition of straight as a die, heads down chugfest trad metal. After a number of years the name Jag Panzer has been periodically active and this album from 1997 is a worthy addition to the bands canon. Comprising ten tracks and sent forth to the cult level fanbase the band still commands by Century Media the general gist of affairs can be gleaned from a perusal of the track listing adorned as it is with titles such as:-

Black
Call of the Wild
Despair
Future Shock
Recompense
Ready to Strike
Tyranny
Shadow Thief
Sonet of Sorrow
Judgement Day

The guitars are insistent and strong - no AOR here - and it's great to see that Joey Taffola has lost none of his ability to shred in a cutting manner in the name of `maturity'. The vocals come over the top and while they may not be to my exact taste they toil manfully away in a likeable punter fashion. The bass/drum attack are not spectacular to my ears, rather they are there to serve the song which is a plus in itself.

The production is credited to Jim Morris and Jag Panzer and is happily traditional without any excessive sheen yet is also such that everything feels quite defined.

(Special note - I have only heard the original version of this album, not the reissued one also available)

4.0 out of 5 stars Contains some of JP's best songs, November 13, 2005
This review is from: Fourth Judgement (Audio CD)
I would not choose this album as JP's best album, that goes to Thane To The Throne, but it has some absolute gems. The album starts off with gem number one, the wicked BLACK. After some eerie violins and vocals a bitchin riff kicks in and the band starts rolling. The next gem is FUTURE SHOCK. I absolutely love the bridge and the guitar solo is great. SHADOW THIEF is a decent rock song, at least worthy enough to be on my i-pod. The next gem is SONNET OF SORROW, a short somber ballad featuring only vocals, guitar, and violin. The album closes with the last gem, the epic JUDGEMENT DAY. Great vocals, great chorus, great riffs, and awesome guitar solo! Joey Tafolla's lead playing is very melodic and extremely fluid. After the disappointing Dissident Alliance album it was great to have Joey and The Tyrant back in the band. I think most of JP's album have some great songs but this album has some of their best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, July 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Fourth Judgement (Audio CD)
Its a pity that Jag Panzer are unknown apart from a tiny minority. This is probably their best album, but they are all good. Along with Iced Earth, Jag Panzer would have to be the best band going around. They combine crunching metal riffs with some really emotional passages. To top it all off, its all very ambient and orchestral, and Conklins vocals are excellent. If you are new to Jag Panzer, this is a great album to start. It has the great twin guitar attack of Judas Priest, the "old style" metal approach of Iron Maiden, and modern technology and influences. I have been listening to Jag Panzer since they released this album a couple of years ago, and they haven't failed to impress me, live or in the studio.
