5.0 out of 5 stars A first class audio production and a terrific story, December 13, 2002
If you enjoy quirky characters, a dash of silly humor (even the sound effects are funny), and mysteries this audio book was made for you. The main plot is well layered and interesting. Within a few moments I was hooked and wanted to stay with the story to find out what the deal was with the fourth tower. Later more and more mysteries, some completely unrelated to the tower mystery, kept me interested and involved during Jacks hesitant search for the tower and the jukebox. There is a lot going on in the story, each character could easily merit a book unto them selves, Little Freda or the Madonna Vampira for instance, but the author keeps a firm grip on the plot and I didn't feel lost or left on some pointless side story at any time.

If you enjoy audio productions don't miss out on this classic and be sure to check out the many other audio productions of ZBS!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Aural Fantasy, February 21, 2000
Your body may have to stay in one place, but your mind can make incredible journeys. The Fourth Tower of Inverness is an homage to old time radio, with generous dashes of mystic fantasy and adventure. Jack Flanders journeys to his aunts three-towered estate in Inverness, where he encounters a mystery. An old Juke Box plays just before a disaster occurs. When a vanishing Fourth Tower appears in the mist, Jack knows he must enter the tower, and find the source of the Lotus Juke Box. Along the way he recieves help and advice from Far-Seeing Art, Little Frieda, Chief Wampum-Stompum, and Jives the Butler. Just one more thing, beware the Dragon!

5.0 out of 5 stars TRUE RADIO MAGIC!!!, February 25, 1999
By A Customer
An intelligent and entertaining journey through a seemless blend of tibetan mysticism and 1950's americana, this RADIO PLAY will amaze and enlighten all in one go. The cast of characters is wonderful and the sheer fun that they had making this production is appearant. I have been listening to this same production for about 15 YEARS!! and I still hear something new everytime. I recently had to replace my cassette version with CDs because they all snapped from constant use! Visit the land of the Lotus Jukebox. Take a spin at the Wuirlitzer of Wisdom. Listen to pure radio magic. Amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unforgettable Journey, December 6, 1999

It was over a decade ago when I first heard this story. Since then, I've worn out two sets of tapes and had to purchase the CDs. It was well worth it! The story is an excellent work of modern fantasy and features an incredible audio palette of sound that transports you to another world...humorous, smart, and very entertaining!

I first heard this over public radio years ago when I was just a kid. I was so delighted to find it on Amazon last week. Hearing it both took me back to childhood and, even better, now I get a lot more out of it. My whole family is huddled around the CD player at night. Not quite the same as radio, but at least my children are getting a taste of radio drama.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better Than 3-D IMAX!, July 18, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
3-D movies add a sense of movement, of feeling, to a visual experience. Imagine if you could be inside a movie, if it could happen to you as if you were a character in the story. That's what it's like to listen to "The Fourth Tower of Inverness." The story unfolds in your imagination because it is recorded to make you feel inside the action. Use an excellent set of headphones to maximize this effect. The story will suck you into it, you will be swept away -- into pure entertainment. And every once in a while, when an actor breaks down and starts laughing, you laugh in delight with them, because they leave these special moments in the production -- you'll see (and hear and smell and feel and.....) This is one of those things that you wind up pushing at your friends -- "No, really, you've gotta listen...." ZBS Media made several other Jack Flanders stories, but the two best are Fourth Tower and "Moon Over Morocco," which should be experienced after "Fourth Tower." I've never heard anything that equals these productions, and I'll bet you haven't either. What are you waiting for?
