5.0 out of 5 stars World Jewish Music, August 25, 2007

This review is from: The Fourth World: Planetary Jewish Music (Audio CD)
The Fourth World is a group of Philadelphia musicians recreating and reinventing the Hebrew tradition of music as a vehicle of mystical journey and world healing. Their repertoire is based on extensive research reaching back into Oriental, Sephardic and Hasidic sources for melodies and texts. The group's sound is a rich fusion; a true world music reflected in unusual instrumentation: tabla, tamboura, djimbe, udu, congas, dumbek, flute, electrified viola, english horn, oboe, bowed bass, bass clarinet, spanish guitar and voice.
