5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Leather Dress Gloves, Run Narrow
I have small hands with short fingers. I measured the circumference of my palms, which I would class as medium (not narrow or wide)and got 7 inches. However, Size 7 of this glove is called "medium." I knew my fingers were too short for a medium, so I ordered the small, or 6.5. It fits perfectly--a nice snug fit and the finger length is perfect. If your hand is narrow...

3.0 out of 5 stars elegant glove
These gloves are fairly well made and quite attractive. The longer cuff length is nice also since it will stay inside a coat sleeve. If you wear rings, consider going up at least one size: they run pretty narrow through the hand and are almost painful to wear if you have rings on. The lining is a bit thinner and looser that older pairs of similar gloves. I would consider...

If your hand is narrow or medium, and your fingers are short, the small 6.5 glove will fit fine, but not if your hand is wide. The leather and cashmere lining of these gloves is beautiful. Great for dress or mild winter weather.

I have been wearing Fownes gloves for years. Love the fit, leather and lining. These gloves are a little longer than my previous pairs. (but not too long) Just makes them that much warmer- love it!! The leather is soft and supple, lined with cashmere.( an absolute must for me) Always impressed with the high quality of FOWNES gloves compared to more expensive ones. At this Amazon price buy a couple of pair. You will be glad you did.

The lining is a bit thinner and looser that older pairs of similar gloves. I would consider these most appropriate for mild winter weather - 40's and higher with gentle to no wind.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Distinquished, March 13, 2009
This review is from: Fownes Women's Cashmere Lined Lambskin Leather Gloves (Apparel)
Loved the gloves. My husband and I both love the very classy red. The leather is soft and good while the inside is warm. According to the chart I would take a medium but if you have short fingers the gloves will slide onto your hand more making the wider part of the glove to hit the part where they tell you to measure. In short, I ordered a small instead of medium and they are fine. Because my fingers are so short I have a little extra room at fingertips but I'm used to that. I would recommend. The only reason for the 4 stars is because of the fit of excess at fingertips for my short fingers.

The black dye from these gloves comes off on everything. Very poor quality. The lining is soft and the gloves feel great until people start saying "What is that black smudge on your face?"

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful warm winter gloves, November 27, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are beautiful gloves: well made (I've been wearing them for several weeks and they are obviously strongly made), extremely warm (and the cashmere lining is very soft), and well fitting - they glide on and fit snugly. I am delighted with these gloves. Terrific value at the price (mine were on sale). I would recommend them to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every Day Dress Gloves That Won't Break Your Bank, November 14, 2011

I ordered these in 7.5, black. That is my glove size. These fit well, considering the shape of my hands and the length of my fingers. My hands are squarish, and my fingers are short. I don't have model hands, you know, long and thin. I uploaded photos of the gloves themselves, and on one hand.

First, these are plain leather gloves that extend about 3 inches beyond my wrist. Note this if you want gloves that stop at your wrist, because you won't want these. I like the length because it's enough to keep the wind out of my coat sleeves, but not long enough to be restrictive.

Second, these gloves are not waterproofed. I will probably not apply a waterproofing product because I'll wear a different pair of gloves if I need to scrape my car. There are waterproofing products available if you choose to waterproof them.

Third, the leather is really soft, smooth, and supple. These fit a tiny bit snug around my knuckles, but leather stretches and after I wear them a few times, that problem will be corrected. You can move your hands and fingers easily.

Fourth, these are lined with cashmere for added warmth. The cashmere is very soft, but not thick. The leather blocks the wind, though, and that's key to warm hands!

Fifth, the workmanship is excellent. The seams are sewn well, and are not bulky. There are no loose threads. The stitching is even. The first thing I thought when I touched the leather was, "It's like buttah!"

These can easily dress up or down, and are suitable for every day wear. They'll go with jeans to semi-formal wear. This is because they are plain, unadorned, and without special stitches, embroidery, or gathering. They may not seem like the prettiest gloves, but their simplicity makes them versatile.

A great gift for yourself, or someone else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soft, Inside and Out, January 11, 2010
This review is from: Fownes Women's Cashmere Lined Lambskin Leather Gloves (Apparel)
I received these gloves as a present. They're so nice! The ones I received are black and are amazingly soft. The inside is lined with a tan colored cashmere. They feel so nice on my hands. They're perfect for the cold weather. My hands stay soft and warm when I go outside in the cold. Plus, they go with just about anything I wear. Another reviewer mentioned the black dye rubbing off of the gloves, but this has not been my experience. I have nothing but good things to say about them. The ultra soft leather and the cashmere lining give me a little piece of luxury wherever I go all winter long.

I highly recommend these. Buy a pair for every woman you know! Trust me, they'll love it!

These gloves feel wonderful and fit well. Best I've seen anywhere for the price in a cashmere lined lambskin leather glove. The fact that they are actually SIZED is a big plus and very hard to find. Have the red and just ordered the black.
