These MTB shorts are ok at best. They are not the greatest. The pair I received is very long and covers my knees while riding. I feel the tug on the knees after riding for a long time in the saddle so too much friction. The side pockets on the hip area are made of cheap thin netting easily snags keys among other items that you will put in the pockets. They also don't come with any buttons, zipper or velcro to hold items in pocket securely. The zipper pocket on the front right thigh area is good. The left pocket on the thigh is velcro also holds items secure. The shorts seem to be made from a pretty thin material overall something close to a tent lining to describe it. These just feel paper thin not use to this feel from Fox Clothing. This is a disappointment for me personally. There is velcro on the inside of the back portion of the shorts to make them bigger or more snug but none upfront to make it truly secure and tight. This I think is a design flaw.
The chamois on the inside is soft. I would not ride for hours with the shorts with this chamois alone. Even with the new Fox Design Foam it's not that great. I would ride with another chamois like the Evolution Ride Short or Titan Race Short for long treks. When I bought these I was really hoping for Fox to come out with a great design and technology for us MTB's but this is pretty much on the fail side. My Fox Baseline shorts that are old still hold up better and that's not good for these shorts are not cheap and just lack in too many ways to be a good short overall. I would wait for Fox to come out with a new line up of shorts before making any more purchases or if you can find an older design that has not been purchased then buy those
