KitchenArt Adjust-A-Burger Press I have it for over two years now, I do not eat Red Meat so I make Turkey and Veggie Burgers. The Adjust-A-Burger has three choices of thickness 1/4 Lb., 1/2 Lb. and the one I like to make 1/3 of a Pound Patties. Turkey Meat is very Sticky, I put a drop of oil on the Adjust-A-Burger and spread it all over the top so the Patty will release...

Every Spring I borrow a friend's Chef'n burger press that works great for making 50-60 burgers for our annual branding, and since I could not find that product online, I was looking for a comparable product. Of those available online, I purchased this burger press because my family prefers the large sized burgers that it makes (over 4" across). I like the adjustability (it can make 1/4, 1/3 and 1/2 lb burgers), and the ease with which it makes smooth edges when you press the meat into the mold. The problems lie in these aspects of the design: First - it is hard to hold onto if, like me, you have pretty small hands. And Second - once you have gotten your hands all greasy from pressing the ground meat into the mold, it is next to impossible to turn the outside piece to push the formed burger out! Regardless, for the price, this works pretty well if you are not in a hurry to get a lot of burgers ready for a crowd.

Turkey Meat is very Sticky, I put a drop of oil on the Adjust-A-Burger and spread it all over the top so the Patty will release without any problems, but you know, my favorite is to use a knife and Peel the Patty right off because the oil is too messy

I never had any problems I'm so used to it and make Patties very fast, you can Check my Posted Pictures and you'll see what I mean. The Adjust-A-Burger makes 4-1/4 Inch wide Patties and that is Big enough for me, I make many of them. I use Parchment or Wax paper squares and I flip the Adjust-A-Burger filled with Turkey meat onto the paper square I press down to compress and make the Patty even, then I release it and the Adjust-A-Burger makes perfectly shape Patties. I am giving it Five Stars because for me it works Great! ...I think it's just a matter of learning and getting used to it. Check my Pictures, Thank you

My wife bought the Adjust-A-Burger to make the perfect burger. The end result is as intended.
But once unit and hands get greasy from the meat, the tiny 1/4 lb or 1/3 lb notches get difficult to set and hold. Good result, slow process.

Any moisture whatsoever causes the fingers to slip along the outside, making it impossible to push out the burger or readjust afterwards. It's tricky to adjust with dry fingers. A bulbous point on the inside has to slip into a groove just so to lock it at whichever position you choose. It's tricky the initial time and just gets worse thereafter. Get yourself a small fruit can or water chestnut can that is only a couple of inches high and a little wider in circumference than the regular 15-16 oz soup/bean cans. Use your can opener to take off both sides and use this to pack in the burger mix with your fingers or the backs of your fingers directly onto the cooking pan or waxed paper or whatever. Afterwards, gently pull off the can. It's simple and 100% more effective than this waste of money/piece of junk filling my kitchen. It's an awkward size that can't be easily placed in just any drawer or cupboard to boot. I really don't have one nice thing to say about this product. BTW, I tried it out on several different veggie burger recipes without avail. These were not greasy burger mixes so I can't imagine how slippery this would be with fatty meat burgers.

This press is a good bargain, is easy to use, easy to clean, and makes nice uniform patties. I like that I can make a 1/4 pounder for my wife and a 1/2 pounder for me.

Really like the product. Easy to use and clean. Each hamburger comes out perfectly and the meat is easily glided off the press. The sizes that you can make each burger is great too. Liked the product so much I bought one for my son-in-law (which he uses constantly) and an extra one for myself.

I haven't had the same problems with this as a lot of the other reviewers have (though I do have large hands). I normally wear latex gloves when making my burger patties, and haven't had trouble with it slipping out of my hands or issues getting the burger to pop out. Some little bits of meat do sometimes stick to the plastic, but I find that a quick spritz of pam helps loosen it up. It's also surprisingly accurate with the measurements -- I made 10 lbs. of burgers for a BBQ using the 1/4 lb setting, and ended up with 39 burgers. Just shy of the 40 I should have gotten, but definitely close enough for my uses. I do feel like the mechanism could be made to act a little more smoothly, but I find this to be a nice help if trying to make burgers to a specific size.

The few negative reviews I read occur when one uses the press single-handedly. If you're making one or two burgers, you don't need a press. We use it when we're having a bunch over for picnic. I weigh out the hamburger (5.25 ounces) for a 1/3 pound burger. Then with my greasy fingers, I put it into the press and form the burger. My wife, with her clean hands, pops it out and resets the press to 1/3 pound. Between the two of us, we can knock out 20 burgers in just a few minutes. We love it. I'm ordering a second one for our summer house.

This tool makes great patties, and if you press them into the mold well, they hold up to grilling or even pan frying! There are several size choices to choose from, and the mold is very easy to use, and clean.

I spray mine with a little Pam before using, and the patties are easier to remove.

I found this item at Ross for around $5. The idea is great, the execution not so much. It "adjusts" to let you choose the thickness of the patty. But adjusting the patty size, and "dispensing" the patty once it's formed, are almost impossible for two reasons: (1) the two plastic cylinders "stick," and do not move smoothly against each other and (2) your hands get SLIPPERY in the process of forming the patties (even with lean ground turkey) so you can't get a good grip on the two plastic cylinders. So, concept 5 stars; execution 0 stars. I just put mine in the garbage. /:o[
