Egg Piercer,
This review is from: Fox Run Egg Piercer (Kitchen)
I had been looking all over for one to replace the plain one we brought back from Europe. This is a very useful gadget if you regularly eat boiled eggs. By piercing the shell before cooking the egg, you release the tension and ensure that the shell will not crack. It also allows easy removal of the amnion from the egg. The price was right, but frankly the shipping cost was ridiculous relative to the price. Also, one review said there was an attached magnet, but mine doesn't have one.

I've used one of these for over ten years so it gets a star for every year of hard work. The pin got a bit dull a few years ago and now the locking safety device is jammed but I dare you find as useful a tool for $1.70. Just unlock and punch the fat end of your egg before boiling and the eggs won't crack. The attached magnet keeps it handy, right on the side of my frig. EEEEK! Just canceled my order on this. I realize they have to pay someone to drop this in a padded envelope and pay postage but $8.70 is a bit much for an item that costs $1.70. Product is still great.

Every now and then something comes along which is very useful. Many times we buy things and never use them. This egg piercer I use a lot. I am always making hard boiled eggs because I like them. This item is very easy to use and convenient to store but watch out because it's so small you can easily lose it. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to make hard boiled eggs for salads, potato salads or just eat them as they are. It was shipped right away and ordering was easy.

I boil about a half dozen eggs every few days. Peeling them has either gone really easily, or sometimes really hard and frustrating, and it was about a fifty/fifty split. So I bought this little gadget thinking it would make a big difference and make peeling every egg easy. Not the case. First of all almost all the eggs cracked after boiling despite the product description claiming there would be little to no cracking, and second the eggs are absolutely not easier to peel. Just like before the egg piercing, it's still about every other egg that is difficult to peel. At least I didn't waste a lot of money trying this product out.
Want perfectly hard-cooked eggs every time? Place four eggs in the pot and fill with water until the eggs are just covered. Bring to a boil, remove pot from heat source and cover the pot for twelve minutes. Take out eggs and enjoy! This method ensures eggs are neither over cooked nor under cooked.

I do not know why I did not try this type of product years ago. A snap to use. Boiled eggs come out perfectly. This would have saved numerous eggs over the years. Will never be without one in the kitchen again. I highly recommend it.

I was skeptical about buying this, but now I see there was no need. This piercer works great, and if you pierce your eggs and then steam them they almost peel themselves. Very easy to use, and gave me perfect hard boiled eggs the very first use. I love it, I love it, I love it!

well, the thing that punches the holes is too big and has already shattered 2 out of 10 eggs, Also it's completely sealed so you can't clean the egg or anything else out of it that spills in it. It's this second part that really grosses me out. Why would you make something that comes in contact with raw chicken stuff that you can't clean and disinfect? If the egg crushes while trying to pierce it how do you clean the raw egg out? (it doesn't come apart and the base is sealed?)

I love hard boiled and deviled eggs but hate, hate, hate, peeling them. For some reason I can never get the shell off without taking off chunks of the egg too. Several months ago I purchased the eggie's product after seeing an advertisement but they are a pain to use because of all the little parts, also the eggs tasted rubbery, and I don't think they would be good for deviled eggs due to the shape of the eggs after they are cooked. So, I started searching again for something that would make the eggs easier to peel and found this item on Amazon. After reading the reviews I decided to try it and the price was great too. Well, I just used it for the first time tonight and it is AWESOME! All of my eggs peeled perfectly!! Sure wish I would have found this item sooner it would have saved alot of frustration over the years.
