One of the best series ever!,
By James (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Fox Run (Endworld) (Mass Market Paperback)
The idea behind Endworld has encouraged many more titles such as the book Swan Song and even the movie The Day After. It is an interesting read that deals with a group of people living in a very fictional post apocalyptic future. A future that has mutants, mutated humans, a crazed Russian army along with tons of other interesting hurdles they must cross in order to stay alive. It has rich detailed characters, interesting action and some nice jokes. While it is not Shakespeare as far as the writing is concerned, it is fast paced and can keep you interested. Do not read this series if you are going to worry about details and unrealistic action. This book is in the sci-fi area for a reason. I recommend the first one to everyone I know, for the simple fact it is worth the time to look it over

Action in the post-WWIII world,
This review is from: The Fox Run (Endworld) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the 1st I've read by Robhbins and I intend to be back for more. It's action in postwar Minnesota as Blade, Geronimo and Hickock undertake a mission to find out what else is left outside their compound. Great touches abound-killer mutant squirrels, gladiatorlike combat with Wolverines and living killer clouds all make the world of Blade a living hell. In a surprising twist, the heroes are given a mission early on and by the end of this actionfest, they haven't even started the mission; thus promising plenty of action to come. Nice touch.

One of the best adventure scfi.books I've ever read, and I collect this series, and try to get all of the ones that follow in it. This one kept me on the edge of my seat, and couldn't put it down to do anything till I'd finished. One of the things I like about all of them is that they fasten on to you from the minute you pick them up till you finish, and then you hunt everywhere just to get the next one;as you don't want to miss a single thing that will happen to the FamilY! Please let the author know that they are a well loved books, and that his fan's would like more of them!

Post-apocalypse at its best!,
This review is from: The Fox Run (Endworld) (Mass Market Paperback)
100 years have passed since WWIII. A small group of people living in a refuge called the home in Minnesota are going strong. But there's a problem. It is a problem beyond the mutates, killer clouds and mysteries that await the family on the outside of the compound. The problem? The people in the home are beginning to age at an accelerated rate. Add to that, decreasing medical supplies. This story is the beginning of a series of 'Runs' to places outside the home and facing unknown dangers. David Robbins does a superb job at hooking the reader from page one 'til the end of the story. The Trolls may want more women, but the readers want more ENDWORLD!!! Excellent and fast read. A lot of post-apocalyptic novels are very dark and dreary. It definitely ain't pretty 100 years post nuclear war, but Mr. Robbins does an excellent job of balancing a dreary world, with not only hope rooted in a group called the family, but with humor that makes life tolerable. Besides that there is kick butt action with warriors worthy of that name!

Good series for "zoning out",

I have read every book in this series except the Doomsday one... I am a big fan of them, would recommend them for someone just looking for something to zone out on...not a ton of deep thinking, but heavy on action, more believable than the Wingman series and it has some twists in it. Plus it always left me looking for more...

This book and the rest of the books in this series that I have had a chance to read are some of the best books I have ever read. Post apocolyptic (sorry if misspelled)stories are rare and few, and the only ones that I have read that are similar are the Deathlands series and the Gunslinger series by Stephen King. I really like how the writer breaks down the description of the compound that the "family" live in. I also like the detail he puts into describing the weapons and guns that the "warriors" carry. The author needs to write more books to this series, and the publisher of these books need to republish these stories. I have looked all over the place for these books and they are very hard to find. Amazon must get a hold of the rest of this series.Rizzo, Frank
