This is a great item - well made and sturdy.

It does that, but I put in my own screws and drilled through the wood of the product to mount it.

I ordered two mug racks at the same time since I couldn't find the info I wanted on either one and wanted to get free shipping. I was hoping I could use one for mugs and one to hang necklaces. What I ordered was:

1) Fox Run Expanding Beechwood Coffee Mug Wall Rack for $13.40
2) Expanding PEG Rack 10 Hooks Hardwood Multi-purpose Vertical or Horizontal Wall Mount for $10.80.

The difference in quality of the two in comparison of the $2.60 difference was incredible.

The Fox Run rack (1) has sturdy 2" pegs and are firmly attached to the rack. The rack itself has 3/8" wood and has a very nice finish to it. Not to mention that it gives you three extra pegs to boot over the Expanding PEG Rack for a total of 13 pegs. As others have written, the hardware isn't the greatest so I asked my husband to put two screws into the racks through the wall to make sure that it stayed put. It holds all sizes of mugs easily, even some that I consider to be soup mugs.

The Expanding PEG Rack (2) has 3/8" pegs that aren't tightly adhered to the rack at all. The wood of the rack (I think someone compared them to Popsicle sticks, rightly so) is 1/8" thick. There is no finish to it at all. However, the hardware is a definite improvement over the Fox Run. For light necklaces, this will work fine, but anything heavier will break it to be sure.

For the extra $2.80, the Fox Run is definitely the studier, much better made product.

This mug rack is attractive and the wood matches our cabinets perfectly. The only problem is the cheesy little triangle hangers that are on the back. I should have known better, but we hung the rack and loaded it up with all our favorite mugs. About two days later we came in to the house to find a giant mess of broken mugs on the counter and floor. I think two survived. We were not happy campers. The solution is to drive a good sized wood screw through the rack into the cabinet. We used 3 brass screws and that fixed the problem.

I use this as a hat rack and it works great! I shopped around for something that I could hang hats on, that had big enough pegs to do so. this product fits the bill perfectly.

A basic wall rack. I was very pleased to find one with 13 rather than the typical 10 pegs. The only criticism is that I would have liked better hooks on the back to hang it up with. The ones on it are very small and hard to work with...

I bought this expanding peg rack to hang my mugs on, as I am short on cupboard space. So far it has worked great. I like that it has a lot of pegs. I hung this on the side of my cupboard, and made sure to drill a hole through both the rack and the cupboard before I screwed it in (this prevents the wood from cracking or breaking). The pegs seem secure enough, and I haven't had any cups fall or break. It is a nice touch to my kitchen.

This is a beefy cup holder. I am really impressed by it's sturdiness. Really fast shipping.

This rack is barely usable to hang mugs on. The pegs are wobbly and loose and the whole frame is flimsy. As I tried to hang it, the hanging loop bent and fell off. I would not trust any mugs to this rack! I also tried to hammer small brads into the end of the pegs to prevent the mugs from falling off (as I have done with other mug racks) and the pegs splintered and broke. Unless you want broken mugs, do not buy this rack!

We ran out of cupboard space for my ever-growing mug collection. By putting them on the wall, we increase cupboard volume and fill in a large, unused wall area. Worked perfect.
