Great little timer. Perfect for a retro kitchen.,

This review is from: Fox Run Retro Kitchen Timer with Magnet, Mint Green (Kitchen)
When I ordered this timer, it was initially back ordered. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived within just a few days.
It works perfectly by keeping extrememly accurate time. It passed the cookie baking test with flying colors. The magnetic backing is perfect for sticking to any surface at any angle. The ad for this timer isn't specific and pictures it in a way that implies it is much larger than it actually is. Be aware that it is small, which works for my tiny workspace. Overall, I am very pleased with my cute little retro timer!

It is a great timer once you learn to use it right. :),

This timer looks beautiful and retro, a favorite combination of mine, BUT it fails in its most important feature: warning you when your food is done. I needed an extra timer because I tend to cook more than one item at a time (like most people) and lose track of cooking times. For about a week, I used this without incident. Then, I decided to color my hair...DUM DUM DUM (threatening music in the background). I set the timer and waited, but after a while of not hearing a timer...I began to be suspicious. I looked, and saw that it had run out of time, but no ringing to warn me. WHAT!?! Here I am, bleaching my hair (platinum blonde,no less!) and this POS timer stops working after less than 7 uses. I loved nearly everything about it: cool old-fashioned paint, magnetic backing so it can stay out of reach of my curious toddler, and the convenience of a timer I can take with me wherever I am in the house.
It works less than half of the time, so if I am baking cookies for my new neighbors (a few days ago), well, I have to watch the cookies (Sliver's Lemon Spritz, which were Awesome!!!) until I get a better timer. I once had a great (West Bend brand, I think) timer that never failed. I will be searching for a replica of that one. This is now a somewhat interesting-looking paper weight. Update: I read some other reviews of this item and learned that you have to wind it up fully, then wind it down to the amount of time you want to set it for. THEN, it works. I now love this timer. Glad I bought it...the classic color is cool too.

I liked everything about this timer, except that it stopped ringing after 3 1/2 months. It still ticks away but since it doesn't ring it's worthless. I wish company's wouldn't make throw away junk like this. It just wastes our planet's resources. :-(

Neat Timer,

I like this timer, it has a neat retro green color and it works like a charm (most important)! Also, the magnet on the back is pretty handy. I just stick it on the fridge, wind it up and off it goes tick-tocking.
NOTE: To use this timer properly you must wind it ALL THE WAY TO 55 FIRST then dial it back to whatever time you want it to count down from. It says this on the back of the box, but it can be easy to miss.

Retro Timer Works For Me,

My wife and I picked one of these up at a local BB&B a couple of weeks ago and have used it almost daily with no problems. I concur with another reviewer that perhaps some users that have had issues do not do a full turn to 55 minutes before putting it back to the desired time. I've had a number of timers in my day and the older ones needed this sort of priming to work properly and accurately. I suspect that there are also a number of lemons in circulation as well. "They don't make them like they used to."
I can only speak for the one I own. It works as it should and has a clean, round retro styling that I find appealing. It rings for about 5 seconds when it reaches 0. It also securely attaches via its magnet to my refrigerator and to my stove. If you have stainless steel appliances I suspect you'll probably want to look elsewhere. Mine is the red model.

Nice and heavy and has a good "tick" to let you know it's working. The chrome collar is going to flake off sooner rather then later and came with a couple of pits in it already.
Turns smoothly to set the time, easy to read dial, good strong magnet, and I'm crazy about the color. I've only had mine a few weeks and it works a treat so far. I was raised up on good old fashioned Lux timers, you know those plain white ones that weighed a half a pound and always got the job done. After having several of their cheapo versions die on me in quick succession, I finally gave in and got my first non-Lux timer. Addendum: I've had it stuck to my fridge, lookin' purty for the last 5 months. Still works just fine. The chrome ring hasn't had any more flaking and it looks nice and vintage up there. Has a nice ring, not too long not too short. Still glad I bought it.

Cute, but doesn't work.,

Out of the box, I wound it, it tick-ticked for about 5 seconds, then stopped. Because it takes so long to ship, I opted for money back rather than replacement, so I don't know if a second one would work. Such a bummer, I was looking forward to having it.

I only had this timer for a month before it stopped working. I wind it to the time I want, and five or ten minutes in, it stops working. I've relied on this timer too many times and burnt my dishes. While it looks cute and the magnet feature is convenient, I would get something a bit more reliable.

I've had this timer for 6 months and it seems very accurate, which at the very least should be a basic requirement. I like the retro look and the fact that the magnet sticks very solidly. It has a metal housing which should take a few hits if you happen to accidentally drop it.
The mint green color isn't currently available, but the prices of the other colors are comparable and not bad.

I got this timer and I love the look of it. I also thought that it didn't work, I set it for 5 mins and no ding! Of course, I'm used to digital timers. I then remembered that all my older timers had to be brought past 15 mins and then back again if I was using it for a time less than 15 mins. It worked and has continued to work for me...my confusion could have been avoided by just reading the package instructions but at least I figured it out. One detail...it's a metal timer. Which means if you time your baking and leave your magnetic timer on your oven or hood it will get hot. So if you pull out your baking and it's not quite done, you're going to need your pot holders to set it again! I'm going to leave mine on the refrigerator from now on after that not-fun and should have been obvious realization...and the only reason I left off a star. I'm very satisfied otherwise, it has a nice clear ring and tells time accurately.
