When this muffin pan arrived, I was surprised by how light it felt. Upon careful examination, the label reads "stainless steel premium surface". Yes, only the SURFACE is stainless!

Our first reaction, upon opening the package, was that the pans were significantly lighter, in weight, than expected. Consequently, we were concerned that they would not heat, brown or bake evenly. That left us in no rush to use them.
It was a few weeks later that we gave them their first use. Not only did they heat perfectly but they baked and browned uniformly. The cupcakes fell out of them, evenly cooked and perfectly colored, as though the cups had been coated. All we did was butter them, which is our usual practice. Cleanup was a breeze. These are perfect and we recommend them.
