5.0 out of 5 stars Fox Run cupcake pans
Our first reaction, upon opening the package, was that the pans were significantly lighter, in weight, than expected. Consequently, we were concerned that they would not heat, brown or bake evenly. That left us in no rush to use them.
It was a few weeks later that we gave them their first use. Not only did they heat perfectly but they baked and browned uniformly...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not 100% Stainless Steel
When this muffin pan arrived, I was surprised by how light it felt. Upon careful examination, the label reads "stainless steel premium surface". Yes, only the SURFACE is stainless!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fox Run cupcake pans, February 28, 2009

Our first reaction, upon opening the package, was that the pans were significantly lighter, in weight, than expected. Consequently, we were concerned that they would not heat, brown or bake evenly. That left us in no rush to use them.
It was a few weeks later that we gave them their first use. Not only did they heat perfectly but they baked and browned uniformly. The cupcakes fell out of them, evenly cooked and perfectly colored, as though the cups had been coated. All we did was butter them, which is our usual practice. Cleanup was a breeze.
These are perfect and we recommend them.

I only use stainless steel cookware in order to avoid leaching toxins into my food. This was one of the only "stainless steel" muffin pans I could find with a quick look. My engineer husband performed his famous magnet test. A magnet will not stick to true stainless steel. It sticks to this pan, telling me it's not true stainless. In fact, the paper that comes with this pan says "stainless finish." I was not happy that I paid for a "stainless steel" pan yet only got one that has a "stainless" finish. It's really lightweight too and my other stainless pans are heavier. The only reason I give it 2 stars instead of 1 is because I can use it and it still serves the purpose of being a muffin pan. But grrr... I don't feel like I got what I paid for.

I purchased this product expecting stainless steel since that IS what they say it is however I wasted my money because it is junk aluminum only COATED in Stainless steel. I contacted Fox Run about a week ago and have yet to hear back. Dont waist your money find a differant brand that doesnt falsely advertise their products!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Unexpected DANGER!, November 4, 2010

There are many pluses with this pan. I don't find it lightweight--it has a good amount of substance to it. The price was affordable and they look smooth and shiny. !!! **HOWEVER*** !!! I was shocked at a feature I did not expect. Look at the picture. Do you see the cut-out oval in the pan, probably used for hanging on a rack? The photo shows ONE cutout. My 4 pans each came with TWO cutouts, one (as shown) at one edge and the other opposite it. Not a reason to whine of itself, but here's the shocker-- the holes look like the blades of a vegetable peeler or shaver. It is, inexplicably, as sharpened as a knife blade inside the holes. I like the pans, but I am fearful that I or one of the children may slice themselves if that part of the pan is grasped or washed. Every time I feel like I'm overreacting, I take another look and I am still aghast! I don't know of any other similar pans, so not sure if I should return or live (cautiously) with them! Perhaps they should even be recalled. These are made in China, by the way...

I love my Fox Run stainless steel muffin pan. The muffins cooked great and with oil spray, the muffins came right out effortlessly. This was my first Fox Run stainless steel cookware. I wanted to try one first before buying more and I am definitely going to buy more Fox Run products!

I have this product for several months now. It bakes muffins and biscuits very well. If you put a little bit of oil on bottom it helps from not sticking.

The stainless steel seems to be in good condition. It is not as strong as the 18/10 ones but will be more healthy and last longer than nonstick.

Great pan, very beautiful, and functional - no warping (this is supposed to be made out of the higher quality stainless steel). I don't have problems with anything sticking, if I let the muffins cool off for a while before removing them from the pan. You do need to lightly oil the cups, or use the paper liners. (Paper liners are good if you have to make multiple batches back to back. You can get the unbleached ones at some healthfood stores.)

It fits perfectly in the dishwasher - no rusting, no peeling, none of the drawbacks of the non-stick coated ones. If you get a little baked on oil spots, just clean them off gently with a little backing soda, water, and a paper towel or sponge, and then run them through the dishwasher. I would recommend this to anyone.
