Though the screenplay takes license with the original short story by D.H. Lawrence, this is still an interesting piece--and Sandy Dennis is always interesting to watch.

Great movie, great acting by Sandy Dennis, who was one of my favorites (RIP Sandy). I had been looking for this movie off and on for a long time and couldn't find it. As almost always, Amazon eventually came through. Amazon rocks!

5.0 out of 5 stars A groundbreaking film 43 years ago and still enjoyable today., October 16, 2011

This review is from: The Fox (DVD)
I remember seeing this unique, interesting and well made film way back in 1968(at the age of 17)in a small neighborhood theater. The performances by all the main characters are strong and after watching it for only the 2nd time last night I'm certainly pleased it was well worth the wait. Surprisingly the movie was only a tiny bit dated(to be expected after 43 years)and the subject matter still powerful. The late actress Sandy Dennis gives the strongest performance of the three. If you are on the fence as to whether or not this movie is worth a look in my opinion it most certainly is. I'll most likely be watching it again very soon--really good movies never go out of style.
