I really enjoyed reading this story and found it difficult to put the book down to get back to work. Kerry has a humorous twist on a stress-filled journey of working for a small company in the midwest that put together one of the greatest success stories in the industry. It brought back some enjoyable memories that I had long forgotten. This book gives you some excellent insight to how this software development tool was developed, and how amazing this product is despite the challenges this company and the developers faced. This is an easy read and might even provide you with some ideas to improve how you approach the people side of our business. Thanks for sharing your story Kerry.

Once I began this extraordinary book, I could not put it down. It's a page turner with a story that will appeal to all readers. I worked at Fox Software with Kerry for over 4 years. This story of Kerry's experience at Fox Software is a wonderful reminder that how you get to the top is more important than how high you get.

There have been many stories of what the inside of the high-tech business looks like from the most famous and successful business leaders. Most of these stories are attempts to write history and promote themselves. This story is about a hard working and honest guy who wants to work hard and make something of himself by joining a small software company. After reading this book you can tell that Kerry wrote this book to just share his experience. He is not trying to promote himself, and by doing so he tells a story that so many people can relate to, and he records for all of us a fascinating story of a small software company at a time when the industry was growing exponentially.

This story has a happy ending, despite all of the obstacles presented in the book, Kerry and others continued to work hard and were rewarded years later at Microsoft. I am looking forward to more great books from Kerry.

This book was hard to put down. I enjoyed the book to the very end. I was shocked about all the things that went on in Fox Software. A small software company from Ohio, was able to change the software industry.

Kerry has definitely a gift for writing. He describes in such a vivid way what happened those years that it is impossible to put the book down once you started reading it. You will get to not only to know about his key role in the development of the Fox product through the years but how the software industry worked until 10 years ago when still there where small companies creating kicking-butt software.

This is a easy read from beginning to end, and hard to stop once you've started. A well-written saga of an underdog in the software world that ended up being a department in the biggest. I highly recommend the book. And thanks to the author for writing it.

Recently, I read Mr. Nietz's book while on vacation and found it to be very interesting and hard to put down. Within a couple of days I was finished with the book. This book is for all audiences and you don't need a degree in computers to enjoy it. I highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading other books by Kerry in the future.

I thought Kerry did an outstanding job of providing an insider's view of software development at a small company as well as the tumoil and chaos in a rapidly developing industry from an unassuming, human point of view that anyone either inside or outside of the computer industry would enjoy. Having been hired by Fox Software about a year before it was bought by Microsoft, I lived through a portion of the events covered by the book and was impressed at how vividly Kerry was able to recreate the emotions of those days. Great job!

What a wonderfully written and easy to read story about a phenomenal software development tool many of us have grown to love. Many of us became attached to the wonderful team at Fox, then Microsoft. Kerry filled us in on the details we didn't get to see. Thanks so much Kerry.

This book presents a fantastic inside look at the goings on at Fox Software both before and after the acquisition by Microsoft. I could not put the book down once I started reading it. It was so good, in fact, that I purchased a copy for everyone in the software development department at work. If you're interested in how premier software gets developed (FoxBASE, FoxPro & Visual FoxPro) I'm sure you'll find this book fascinating.

It looks like I'm one of the few reviewers that didn't work for Fox Software. However, I have used and developed in FoxPro a lot over the last 15 years. It's still the best RAD tool that you can buy despite its treatment by Microsoft.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I think that anyone who has worked in software or worked for complete butthead would also like it and relate. It's so well written that I just wish it were longer.
