44 Great Epoxy Clay Projects with Serious Bling
by Kristal Wick!
Why? Because I could not stop looking with amazement at the incredible projects offered. In fact, I had to keep reading until I had checked out the whole book.
I anticipate that this book on how to work with epoxy clay will always be the go-to reference book for most designers when they decide to jump in and try this great, fun, and amazingly diverse material for the first time.
I also anticipate that this book will bring them back for more experimentation with epoxy clay, again and again!
It is just WAY TOO MUCH FUN!
I have always loved Kristal Wick, the author of this fab book. Her own projects which she offers here are all fantastic. The colors and innovations are genuinely top notch. But don't stop there. Add to Krystal's twenty projects 12 OTHER marvelous designers' work! All the projects showcase wonderful innovation as they explain how to make the most gorgeous epoxy clay creations imaginable.
It is obvious to the reader that this is a winner of a book!
You can't imagine the delight you will experience when you see the creations made by Kristal and her friends, all of whom are extremely highly thought of designers, such as Jean Campbell, Andrew Thornton, Candie Cooper, Brenda Schweder, Margot Potter, Debbi Simon, and more!
Foxy Epoxy is a book completely packed full of artistic energy and novel ideas, yet nothing appears too difficult.
As you learn more about expoy clay, you will realize
that it is a great way to stretch your imagination without pushing you over your personal limit technique-wise, or budget wise.Read more ›
Ms Wick has an impressive, extensive resume, and I sincerely enjoy her writing style. I like that she begins this book with basic epoxy clay instructions and information - it familiarizes the beginning clayer with the materials, and reinforces knowledge for those with more experience. Her tip to do your nails with UV polish - while curing your UV resin - made me chuckle. I love that small photos of each project are printed on the page opposite the table of contents. I also found the portion on mold making and casting to be very helpful - for epoxy clay...AND resin...AND polymer clay. Many of Ms Wick's ideas and concepts easily translate to other media. So let's move on to the best part...
The projects! The eye candy alone is worth the price of this book...it is SCRUMPTIOUS! A few projects that really stand out...Charmalicious Bracelet/Necklace (pg 40) by Kristal Wick, In the Round Earrings (pg 46) by Candie Cooper, Boho Vintage Bangle (pg 50) by Kristal Wick, Aqua Daydream Bracelet (pg 66) by Katie Hacker, Embellished Watchband (pg 70) by Kristal Wick, Vintage Filigree Necklace (pg 124) by Debbi Simon...Ok, let's be honest.Read more ›
Has a few pages (12) of basic techniques and
materials needed,in the beginning of the book.
The rest has great "wow-factor", colorful, jewelry
eye candy pictures of finished works, with written
instructions by each project.
Wonderful idea book, sure hope another edition is brewing
with step by step DIY pictures for projects, for visual learners,
beginners and wannabes like me who need more visual guidance. I
would gladly pay for another edition that's wire bound and
visually user friendly.
