I don't normally write reviews, but I have to give these guys some props. I discovered this band on Last.fm, and was unsure if I actually liked them(they take some getting used to). I decided to take a chance and buy this CD.

This CD is awesome. It is one of the most unique and catchy(!) CDs I have ever heard. The entire CD is good. The lyrics are kind of emo, but they also seem to not take themselves very seriously, so they just turn out being kind of funny("Life is a bitch... but she's totally doable.") I would recommend this CD to anyone who is looking for something interesting and different.

Go check out "Oh Lord" and "Wannabe Angel" ... if you like those songs you will definitely like the CD.

I've spent two days listening to this in my car, in my office on my iphone. Love this. A band that knows how to craft a melody and an interesting arrangement. The vocals always seem to be just on the edge of breaking, but never do, an original vocalist and style. The standouts for me were "Second Floor" and "Oh Lord" but I actually enjoy listening to the album all the way thru. Thanks Foxy!

**Originally posted on "#1 Hits From Another Planet" - 4/20/10**

Perched somewhere between Queen, Meat Loaf, the Ark and the Darkness, Cincinatti's outrageous Foxy Shazam may have just released the best album of the year so far. By going poppier with their sound this time around, they've uncovered a gift for melody that suits the searing vocals perfectly. It's easy to get lost in huge production like this, but thankfully the songs are there. Amazing songs. Anthems.

1. Intro/Bombs Away - One of the strangest opening lines ever (There sure are a lot of dogs out there this evening. Perhaps they could assist me... in a song!) lets you know exactly what kind of bizarre album you're in for, then launches into a blistering opener assisted by Eric's powerful, wailing vocals. You're either gonna love it or hate it. I love it. 10/10

2. Wanna-be Angel - Mixing the orchestral pomp of Sparks with the fury of Freddie Mercury's vocals, this is the first "hit" of the album. Totally over the top, totally catchy. The cheeky verses are the best. 10/10

3. Count Me Out - Of all the songs, the chorus of this one reminds me most of the Darkness (in the best of ways). It's definitely a strong, fiery chorus... one of the strongest on the album. It continues the perfect stream of songs that open the album 10/10

4. Bye Bye Symphony - Slowing things down a bit, though it becomes pretty aggressive towards the end. I love the lyrics here and especially Eric's oh-so-serious delivery of them. Very soulful, too. Like everything on the album, it's on a grand scale. 10/10

5. Unstoppable - This sounds like a lost glam hit from the 70's. It's got that "We Are The Champions" vibe to it, though it's a massive uptempo number. Suitable for stadiums, for sure.

I recently saw this band open for Hole and LOVED them. I ordered their most recent CD after the show, and I'm addicted. If you like alternative/punk rock with a bit of Queen mixed in, you will love this album. Grab a copy today! I have already ordered copies for close friends and family.

Let's face it.
Every Foxy album is a different genera than the last.
This album is way more indie meet's arena rock.

Foxy, once again, beautifly blends fantastic piano work with a breathtaking vocal range performance by Eric. And not to mention blending serious topics with outrageous humour.
So many great songs from this record.
A Must have in any music collection.

I highly recommend "Connect", "Killin' It", "Oh, Lord!" and "Count Me Out".

For fans of "Queen", "Tokyo Police Club", and "The Reverend Al Sharpton".

I would recommend this music to anyone that is tired of the current "hits" on the radio, and misses amazing artists like Queen. Foxy Shazam is like crack for your ears!!! (Warning: highly addictive! You might as well get all of their CD's at once and save yourself the wait time of getting one at a time)

It is hard after almost 50 years of rock history for a band to have an instantly recognizable sound but Foxy have. Great songs. I would highly recommend this album. I have bought many (probably too many) cds from Amazon, but this is the first one I have reviewed.

I saw them open for Slash last September. Had no idea who they were, but they are now one of my favorite bands. Cannot wait to see them again live (unforgettable). Big things are in store for this band.
