5.0 out of 5 stars Most unique band I've heard in a long time... August 9, 2010
Format:Audio CD
I don't normally write reviews, but I have to give these guys some props. I discovered this band on, and was unsure if I actually liked them(they take some getting used to). I decided to take a chance and buy this CD.

This CD is awesome. It is one of the most unique and catchy(!) CDs I have ever heard. The entire CD is good. The lyrics are kind of emo, but they also seem to not take themselves very seriously, so they just turn out being kind of funny("Life is a bitch... but she's totally doable.") I would recommend this CD to anyone who is looking for something interesting and different.

Go check out "Oh Lord" and "Wannabe Angel" ... if you like those songs you will definitely like the CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Rare Gem April 16, 2010
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
I've spent two days listening to this in my car, in my office on my iphone. Love this. A band that knows how to craft a melody and an interesting arrangement. The vocals always seem to be just on the edge of breaking, but never do, an original vocalist and style. The standouts for me were "Second Floor" and "Oh Lord" but I actually enjoy listening to the album all the way thru. Thanks Foxy!

I recently saw this band open for Hole and LOVED them. I ordered their most recent CD after the show, and I'm addicted. If you like alternative/punk rock with a bit of Queen mixed in, you will love this album. Grab a copy today! I have already ordered copies for close friends and family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Foxy Shazam. Self Titled? June 27, 2010
By MPardyM
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Let's face it.
Every Foxy album is a different genera than the last.
This album is way more indie meet's arena rock.

Foxy, once again, beautifly blends fantastic piano work with a breathtaking vocal range performance by Eric. And not to mention blending serious topics with outrageous humour.
So many great songs from this record.
A Must have in any music collection.

I highly recommend "Connect", "Killin' It", "Oh, Lord!" and "Count Me Out".

For fans of "Queen", "Tokyo Police Club", and "The Reverend Al Sharpton".

I saw them open for Slash last September. Had no idea who they were, but they are now one of my favorite bands. Cannot wait to see them again live (unforgettable). Big things are in store for this band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome music! January 31, 2013

I would recommend this music to anyone that is tired of the current "hits" on the radio, and misses amazing artists like Queen. Foxy Shazam is like crack for your ears!!! (Warning: highly addictive! You might as well get all of their CD's at once and save yourself the wait time of getting one at a time)

4.0 out of 5 stars Very unique sound May 13, 2011

It is hard after almost 50 years of rock history for a band to have an instantly recognizable sound but Foxy have. Great songs. I would highly recommend this album. I have bought many (probably too many) cds from Amazon, but this is the first one I have reviewed.

4.0 out of 5 stars There sure are a lot of dogs out this evening... June 25, 2010
Format:Audio CD
I am going to try and be brief with this review. I saw Foxy Shazam live with Tub Ring a few years back and was hooked from the start. Their live show is unmatched in intensity, in passion, or soul. And honestly, that's what I hear when I listen to Foxy, a band with TONS of soul. Some may say Marvin Gaye is what soul music was about, but listen to the way this band works together as musicians, and on certain songs- I don't think there's a better band out there today that could pull off what they do so well.

The first cd I had of theirs was "Introducing". That album is a little less polished it seems in regards to production and of song structure. That isn't to say they didn't have structure, but honestly, this one is alot more defined but still has that "HOLYCRAPITSFOXYSHAZAMDOINGWHATTHEYDO!" factor. And honestly, these guys should be gaining more momentum, they deserve it. The songs are catchy, mind blowing, rebellious and ANYTHING YOU WANT THEM TO BE!

Honest opinion-buy this album. It has so much talent you'll wonder why you never had it before. And to Foxy Shazam, thank you for this amazing disc.

Songs to review: Bombs Away, Oh Lord, Killin' It or any other song on this disc!
