Everyone knows the viewmaster and can relate to their own personal experience and enjoyment with this product. I think this is a must own toy for every child.

This is as classic as say Mr. Potato Head and has a great library of picture disc.

The problem is that the picture disc are sometimes hard to find and they dont offer much in terms of entertainment. With as many interactive toys and games on the market this long lived toy seems lost in time.

I do feel everychild will enjoy it and use it repeatedly just not for long durations of time. It can be educational I suppose as I have learned of picture disc containing slides of World Landmarks and Locations as well as different Animal Pictures and Species.

It does represent the history of toys and has some entertainment value. It is fairly inexpensive but purchasing disc can add up quickly and many will find that the money spent here could be of better service elsewhere.

I purchased the Toy Story Collector Set from the first movie with a classic viewmaster, three disc, and disc protector case. The pictures are stills from the actual movie and a young child will enjoy seeing the images he recognizes from the television.

My son is two years old and does have a hard time looking into the viewmaster but he does try. Also remember that you more or less have to hold it up to a light source to get a good view or contrast of the image.

I feel he will appreciate it more as he grows older and I will add to the collection of disc but probably on a very selective and non purposeful basis!

My son will be 2 in May and I bought this for him because he wouldn't put it back while we were shopping. He thinks it is the funniest thing seeing the pictures in the view master. I remember having fun with this as a child and knew he would love it. I can see why they recommend 3 as the age since my son wants to bend the slide disks. Not like they are overly expensive, but I limit his time so he doesn't break the slides. What a wonderful toy!

I loved this toy when I was a kid, so I thought my kids would love it too. Well, it is hanging out with the other toys that they don't like. I guess in this age of technology kids just aren't as impressed with the manual toys. Save your money.
