Decent Net, January 24, 2011
This review is from: Frabill Rubber Handled Trout Landing Net 3672 (Misc.)
This net is pretty good for the price...
The biggest problem I had with this net, and that anyone else will most likely have, is that the string attached to the end of the net is not very strong... The stretchy material that attached to the butt of the net quickly frayed, and soon thereafter, broke. I ended up attaching a thin piece of twine to my net and used the clip that used to be fastened to the original connecting string to attach to my vest. If a thicker stretchy material was used when the net was manufactured i imagine it would increase the longevity of the attachment string.
Sometimes i found myself trekking though some rough terrain, so the other thing i found is that you should be careful when going through thicker brush and such as the net is a little bit more prone to ripping than i had originally counted on. Thorny material and sticks inflicted some unfortunate rips in parts of my net... Most nets would probably have trouble with thicker brush, and this net held up pretty well, but i was still a little surprised at what caused rips in the plastic netting material.
Overall, I like the net and will probably buy another despite what i listed above. It IS very lightweight, is affordable, and the various sizes it comes in should provide something for most fisherman.
