My kids (age 5 and 7) love to read this book. The 7-year-old is starting to understand fractions, and both enjoy the story, as do I. The example of cutting oranges is one you can do at home to show that 1/2 is bigger than 1/4, and 2 fourths = 1 half.

It's a bit annoying to me that they messed up the pictures -- one of the kids, Kate, has red/blond hair at the beginning and black hair later. I'm assuming that hair dye wasn't part of the story. Still, overall, it's a very good book!

This is a keeper.

It's an early reader that introduces fractions within the story of a soccer team trying-out, practicing and playing. Decent story, fun to read, and the fractions are there but not pushy. I just want to get my little guy in the habit of seeing what fractions look like -- nothing more. He likes the book (he's 5).
