Biography

Air Traffic are one of the breed of piano-led English indie rock bands, prevalent in the early 21st century; they hail from the sleepy seaside town of Bournemouth on the South Coast, not a hotbed of musical heritage to date. The group's name originated from its rehearsals in an abandoned industrial unit near the runway at Bournemouth International Airport, where air traffic control signals could… Read more in Amazon's Air Traffic Store

Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Air Traffic's Fractured Life is a debut album of brilliant, occasionally brutal, mood music. The group's name
originated from its rehearsals in an abandoned industrial unit near the runway at Bournemouth International
Airport, where air traffic control signals could be picked up on the band's equipment. While recording
the album, an EP of four of the tracks was released in October 2006 in the U.K. In addition, Air Traffic also had
its first television appearance in November 2006 when the band appeared on Later with Jools Holland which paved the way for the release of the album Fractured Life in July 2007.

Many of the songs on Fractured Life, like Never Even Told Me Her Name, describe the feelings of breathless anticipation the band registered once the four 21-year olds sensed their career taking off. Another of the songs charting the band's ascent was Shooting Star, a sublime melody poised on the edge of a maelstrom of rock and roll theatrics. From the sexual euphoria of Charlotte to the bleak introspection of Empty Space, to the heart-pumping brand new US track Come On.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, May 24, 2008
One of the best cds I've heard in a long time. They have a variety of music and all of its good. Not one song on the album that I didn't like. The lead singers voice is to die for and I can't wait till they release another album, and till they go on tour to Las Vegas!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A fresh start, March 21, 2008

(REAL NAME)
These kids have put together a very solid, meaningful, heartfelt album. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I wonder what's next for them - I hope they are allowed to "smell the roses" before being forced to produce more. They seem to understand how the fame can fracture artist's lives. Keep it together and keep it tight boys.

This review is from: Fractured Life (MP3 Download)
This is my favourite album at the moment... have been listening to it on Spotify and am so satisfied that I'm buying it outright anyway. Worth every penny.
