5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing...
I'm so glad HH was able to continue on, even with the death of a crucial member. This album is far more mature, and better, than their last two albums IMO. I wasn't sure what to expect without the screaming, but Heights seems to have gone in a whole new direction with Fragile Future.

I've listened to it several times since getting it a few days ago, and so...

1.0 out of 5 stars blah
I actually had no idea that HH lost a member when I bought this. Without this knowledge, I listened and knew that there was a big change. I dont think its just the singer though. Yes, I missed the old screaming for sure, but the album still kinda reminds me of the new Saosin and Thrice albums too. These old school bands that cut the scene wide open have had too much time...

I'm so glad HH was able to continue on, even with the death of a crucial member. This album is far more mature, and better, than their last two albums IMO. I wasn't sure what to expect without the screaming, but Heights seems to have gone in a whole new direction with Fragile Future.

I've listened to it several times since getting it a few days ago, and so far my favorite tracks are "Rescue Me" and "Four Becomes One". There's definitely a more morose undertone to the music on this album; it doesn't sound as poppy and upbeat as some of the songs on their older albums.

I have to admit, I cried during the last minute of "Sugar in the Engine". I've felt that way before, about wishing you could say goodbye to someone, wishing you knew that you were seeing them alive for the last time.

I'm proud of the boys, really. Casey's death could have broken them up. Instead they chose to go on, for his sake.

The reprise of Come Back Home is nice, with the slowed-down chorus of "This is Who We Are" at the end. I thought that was a nice surprise.

Okay, I'm done - bottom line, get this album. It's by far their best yet. I can keep listening to it over and over and not tire of it, it's that amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing short of spectacular!, August 6, 2008
This review is from: Fragile Future (Audio CD)
I wasn't sure what to expect from Fragile Future. After hearing "Rescue Me" I worried that maybe the entire CD would be softer sounding, similar to that song. I was wrong! Though Casey's screaming is noticeably absent on Fragile Future, giving the band a slightly different sound than on their previous releases, Fragile Future is still a solid set of songs. In a word, it rocks! The lyrics, the beats, the message - it all culminates in a feast for the ears. If you're a fan of Hawthorne, this CD is a must.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Great Work under difficult circumstances, August 5, 2008
This review is from: Fragile Future (Audio CD)
When I first heard that Hawthorne Heights was going to do an album with no screamer I was a little worried about how it would sound. But no need to worry. Very good album with very poignant lyrics on songs such as "Four to One" and "Come back Home." If you are a Hawthorne fan and you are debating on whether its worth the buy. Take my word for it and go and get it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A change, September 6, 2008
This review is from: Fragile Future (MP3 Download)
I think this is definitely a change for Hawthorne Heights. I have been listening to their music for about four years now, and this is the biggest "jump" I have heard in their music. Yes, their music obviously sounds different because they no longer have the screamer (Casey Calvert), but they are still carrying on with their music. It was their decision to not replace Casey, and I do respect that. Casey's passing gave them new opportunities to go in a different direction with their music, and this is definitely a nice change from what I have always heard from them. I really do like this album. It shows their true feelings inspired by this past year, but yet it's a pretty upbeat album. You've got the mellow songs with a lot of feeling, but then you've got the really upbeat sort of pop-rock songs that have a lot of feeling. They have done a great job on this album. <3 :)

5.0 out of 5 stars wow, August 30, 2008

Why waste a whole bunch of useless words trying to explain this cd.
If I could describe this cd with one word its simply: Beautiful.
I'm a fan of the old school and the so called "more hardcore" cds, but this cd is just as good as the next. I can tell that these guys have a passion behind their music. Do them a favor and pick up a copy of this amazing cd.

4.0 out of 5 stars Was great, September 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Buying cd's used is awesome. Came quick and was in good condition. The album is good too, a little different than the old hawthorne heights since there's no screaming but still doesn't disappoint me. Everyone has their own opinions on whats good music so I will leave my review with that.

I actually had no idea that HH lost a member when I bought this. Without this knowledge, I listened and knew that there was a big change. I dont think its just the singer though. Yes, I missed the old screaming for sure, but the album still kinda reminds me of the new Saosin and Thrice albums too. These old school bands that cut the scene wide open have had too much time to grow and mature and sound like more alt mainstream versions of themselves. I hope theyre making money. They deserve it. But me? Im moving on to search for more ground breaking stuff.

3.0 out of 5 stars nothing like the old school hawthorne....., September 5, 2008
This review is from: Fragile Future (Audio CD)
I picked this CD up at my local music store and at first i wasnt real fond of it, and still i am not really. For those of us who actually know what hawthorne is like this CD doesnt really sound like the normal hawthorne with the deep growl, there is not one scream in this whole CD, so if that is what you want then go for it.

you can definitely tell that hawthorne has stepped it up this time around and are definitely carrying on without thier former guitarist casey calvert (which who there is a tribute song for ) anyway check this cd out its a step forward for these guys.
