Fragments of Reality works as a piece of mind kit in your everyday life. Where TV and media lures you off from essential and undisputed wisdom, Fragments of Reality works as a guide to your peace of mind. It offers you a mirror to your own experiences and reflections, encouraging and supporting your own thinking.

4.0 out of 5 stars In Search of Reality, March 14, 2011
This review is from: Fragments of Reality: Daily Entries of Lived Life (Paperback)
Fragments of Reality reflects the confrontation between youthful idealism and harsh realities. The sparks are flying high and wide, illuminating a young man's search for an existential platform.

It is fascinating to follow this voyage of discovery of a creative mind, steered only by an unwavering quest for truth. All the insights are not necessarily new but still genuine, reborn in the heat of a personal revelation. Together they testify to the unquenchable spirit of the human mind, struggling for meaning in the hurly-burly of modern life.

The diary format is charming. Even so one feels that some of the gems could have benefited from additional grinding and honing. But - life is short and art is long.

This is a thought-provoking book that is deceptively easy to read but that keeps one mulling over the ideas contained within. Each chapter begins and ends with a poem and Kajander's chapters are obviously based on a combination of experiences and reflections afterward. I plan to give this book to my friends and associates to inspire them to try harder and to live better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind opening experience, June 5, 2006
This review is from: Fragments of Reality: Daily Entries of Lived Life (Paperback)
Before reading Peter Cajander's book Fragments of Reality I was living my life in a fastforward mode - without stopping to look around and enjoy the beautiful moments. Fragments of Reality opened my mind for all the minor subtleties in life. Now I realise that in order be truly happy with my life I must focus all my energy in the moments of NOW - not in the past nor the future. Fragments of Reality reveals the puzzling pieces of life and makes you question everything you've learned so far. A must reading for everyone who feels there's something more in this life but haven't got the answer what it is.
