Book Description

Alexis' only life was in a care facility. That's what the facility was called, but that was not what she received as she matured into a beautiful young lady. She continually suffered the sexual abuse of the doctor in charge. After she learns about her family background she secretly plots her revenge.
She learns her younger sister, Mercedes Strong, works for the FBI and is in love with Scott Tucker, who is indeed a very handsome young Harvard graduate. Her other sister did some very crazy things that finally cost people their lives and almost Scott's.
Alexis fortunately learned some new skills relating to what her beauty can do to men when they get too close to her. Those skills while being ‘cared for’ at the Lighthouse Manor will come in handy when she gets Scott for herself. However, her first step needs to deal with the men preventing her from carrying out her plan and her sister.
Little does Scott know that consenting to do his next investigation will put him face-to-face with a nightmare from his past.
When the body of one of four missing US citizens is discovered on the Venezuela coast, Mercedes is called away to help investigate. Being a beautiful redhead is no longer an asset, but a liability, and she too will learn what it is like to be kidnapped.

About the Author

Dick Waters is an award-winning author. He spent most of his professional career in New England, working in computer manufacturing and distribution. After he retired in 2009 near Phoenix Arizona, he needed to utilize his pent-up creativity and turned to writing fiction as an outlet. In the last two years, he has published five novels in the Scott Tucker Series. Dick continues to display his ability to craft diversified and thought-provoking short stories. Eleven competition entries came in first, and were published in an anthology with over thirty other authors. He continues to enter competitions and has won several times this year, and those stories will be published in a second anthology in 2014. Dick writes the kind of novel he would like to read. He feels if a reader doesn’t finish one of his novels, he has failed that reader. “…Very interesting characters and the well thought out plot just wouldn't let me put the book down…” His current Scott Tucker series consists of five novels, all involving a serial-killer, or killers. Each novel creates a personal need for Scott Tucker to get involved and help solve the murders. The first novel starts while Scott is attending Harvard as an undergraduate and the others continue following his graduation. Dick uses his knowledge of New England, along with his experience as a Real Estate Broker, member of the National Guard, and business analyst to weave suspense-filled novels that are designed to be ‘page turners.’ “…great suspense/mystery that will draw you in and won't let you go until the last page is read…” As a former certified project manager he uses many of his analytical and planning skills to design and structure plots that create interesting stories. His writing style has been compared to best-selling author Robert B. Parker, who also writes about New England in short chapter format. Dick’s chapters also blend the story from different characters’ perspectives, including the antagonist. This intermingling creates suspenseful novels that urge the reader to read one more chapter to learn what happens. His main genre is mystery; however his novels could be classified as suspense thrillers. His goal is to have at least one best-selling novel in the very near future. He is an active member of Arizona Authors, Desert Sleuths Mystery Writers and Sisters in Crime. He contributes monthly posts for Indies Unlimited which supports independent authors. 3.0 out of 5 stars Too sadistic January 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The story was slightly too dark and sadistic. I kept reading the story to find out what happened, but found myself skipping over a lot just to get to the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Scott Tucker Series January 4, 2014

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read the whole series and really appreciate a good mystery romance. There is definitely mystery to the point of putting you on the edge of your seat for hours. I love it. The romance is great but not over the edge. There is just enough to make it nicely interesting. The only problem I have is the end abruptly too abruptly for me. Thank you for hours of good reading an entertainment.

More About the Author

I live in the Valley of the Sun near Phoenix Arizona. Having lived in New England for most of my early life, the sunny days are a welcome sight.
When I retired in '09 after about forty years in fields related to Manufacturing, Materials and Distribution, I needed to utilize some of my former creativity - writing novels and short stories is now an enjoyable daily routine. At the present time I have a five novel series.

The first of the series is 'Branded for Murder' which is a serial-killer novel. Scott Tucker, the protagonist, is a Harvard undergraduate. His life changes when he gets a call that his cousin is the strangler's newest victim. He joins the newly created task force to help find her killer. His life changes again when he meets the love of his life. He soon becomes the only thing between her and the killer.

The second novel is 'Serial Separation' which is another serial-killer novel. Young former hockey players are being brutally killed. When only their torsos are washing up on New England shores, the authorities speculate their other parts are being kept as trophies by women. Scott, who knew the murdered men, again joins a task force to help find the killer or killers. His efforts are aided by Mercedes Strong, who may have more than one motive to assist the authority's efforts. More men continue to be killed and Scott finds himself face to face with the killer.

The third novel is 'Scent of Gardenia' which is another serial-killer novel. Rich young men and their expensive yachts are going missing in Bermuda. Several investigations into the missing men are launched. Local authorities speculate the men might be held captive for sexual purposes because no ransom has been requested and no bodies have turned up. Mercedes Strong is now with the FBI and is also involved along with Scott Tucker. They are now lovers and she wants him away from any investigations. However, Scott is drawn into an investigation of his own, and does a good job of getting too close to danger.

The fourth novel is really two novels. 'Fragrance of Revenge' is in the style of the first three novels and 'Foreplay for Murder' kicks it up a notch to an adult version. Revenge stew is one part deformed redhead. Keep her hidden away and let her age into a gorgeous young woman. Add frequent non-consensual sex. Mix in some kinky ingredients. Sprinkle with hidden agendas. Strengthen with encouraging words. Permit the pot to simmer until frustrated. Whisk in Scott's picture and allow desire to rise until it overflows. Increase the heat until the Fragrance of Revenge is evident. Then bring to a boil and run for your life before she explodes all over and kills. If the chef is a man; you don't want to know how she does even more damage.

Dick is a member of Arizona Authors, Desert Sleuth Mystery Writers and Sisters in Crime. He won eleven 250 word Flash Fiction writing competitions in 2012. These are now published in the Indies Unlimited 2012 Flash Fiction Anthology.
During 2013 he has won six more Flash Fiction competitions. Dick recently joined Indies Unlimited as a monthly contributor.

Besides writing he enjoys reading. James Patterson's Alex Cross mysteries. along with Robert B. Parker's and Stuart Woods' novels all have one thing in common...they all write short chapters. Dick uses short chapters written from different view points to craft interesting quick reads which are page turners.

Dick welcomes reviews and feedback on his novels whether good or bad. Readers make authors popular, and hopefully you will find his novels worthy of mentioning to your friends and relatives.
