1.0 out of 5 stars A rip-off, March 21, 2010

This review is from: Frame 313: The JFK Assassination Theories (DVD)
Frame 313 The JFK Assassination Theories (Sundown Entertainment)

This is total rip-off. The technical quality standard of this DVD is horrible.

First of all: this is a computer written DVD, not a pressed one. This fact is not very clear on the product data.

The source for this DVD is obviously an analog NTSC VHS tape as typical analog NTSC artifacts are present throughout. Video is also very noisy, another clue of the VHS source. Horizontal definition is very poor, even in the modern parts of the footage (the interviewees). Small print in credits is usually unreadable.
Picture quality is further marred by the abundant presence of digital artifacts, stemming from the fact that at one point the source material clearly was in 360x240 (half D1) resolution. Camera pans are almost always jerky and shuddering, which is an authoring problem.

DVD authoring is a mess. It starts with a totally useless and confusing menu in 4:3 aspect ratio, as there is nothing to choose from: there is only one title and no extra's, subtitles or alternate audio tracks.
The documentary itself is presented in 4:3 letterbox format, although it clearly was produced originally in full 4:3; 33 percent of the image info is therefore missing. The mutilation into a pseudo-widescreen version also has some interviewees' top heads chopped off and several credits missing at the screen bottom, as they extend into the black bars.

The DVD authors could not be bothered to put in a few chapter stops; there aren't any. This makes this almost two hour video virtually impossible to navigate.

There are at least ten instances of sound being seriously asynchronous for prolonged periods of time.

The title is totally misleading; the number 313 is only mentioned once in the entire production! If you expect material on why the official version of the JFK assassination is doubtful using the Zapruder film, you will be disappointed as there is virtually none. In fact, the original title was clearly a different one.
Copyright is of 2008, the actual documentary is of 2003 or 2004, a fact that is credited nowhere.

The documentary lists five numbered theories in the beginning, however further on they are presented as the Warren Commission, the HSCA and 3 theories numbered differently.

Finally the artwork on the box is cut in such a way that the publisher's name and website are almost completely cut off. They did not even get that part right. Or was this on purpose?

Total worth of the package: less than a dollar, for the box and one blank computer DVD. $11,49 is way too much for a poor quick and dirty VHS tape copy on DVD.

You would be well advised to skip this one. It adds nothing new to the JFK assassination discussion, and even contains historically incorrect information.

The self-described 11-22-63 experts (and supposed conspiracy debunkers) just might find a challenge or two in this interesting documentary.

Five theories are presented - objectively, the "Cuba" and "Mafia" chapters the most compelling.

The title of this DVD is "313" as in zapruder film frame number 313 and there's very little analysis of that record! What really sells this piece is believable interviews with a leader in the Blakey commission, ex-CIA personnel and Parkland Hospital staff (Mr. McClelland offering his first-hand observation of an *exit* wound to at the *back* of the President's head).

"Abort Team" associates/observers Plumlee and Holt speak - and so does a guy who says he was told to ignore it - James Files. If they do not believe what they are saying, give them Screen Actor's Guild cards. (Not to take the subject lightly). This is powerful stuff.

Many professionals opine that the Warren Commission was necessary to primarily, keep the Country stable; and secondarily, to cover-up disasterous miscalculations by our own Intelligence.

11-22-63 students will note familiar "conspiracy" theory supporters like Cyril Wecht, Robert Groden, and Mark Lane, seen in a *current* setting.

[Note: The voice-over says that the "protective bubble" was not used but the DVD does not mention two important points: (1) JFK did not want it used; (2) In November, 1963, the "protection" was not bullet-proof, to my understanding].

4.0 out of 5 stars The day we lost our Country., January 7, 2012

The rich and powerful still own each and every one of us. Look at what happened to the only President to stand up to them.
They blew his head apart, while emory roberts (head of our president's secret service detail for that day) set him up and sat back and watched it happen. I wonder how much it costs to buy an agent. roberts even called back a agent that was going to help, after our president was hit, by the 2nd bullet. The first one missed.
johnson knew too, look at the smile on his face, in the motorcade. He knew exactly what was going to happen. He and his oil buddies in Texas got together, (The BU#@ Family) to figure it out.
THEY WANTED THEIR WAR IN FING VIETNAM. Johnsons carreer was over, and he wanted to be President, (No matter the cost)That's why Johnson was covered and pushed down by Rufus Youngblood, (a honest agent) after he "saw some commotion in the President's car". He leaped out of the front seat, and covered johnson. After he had johnson covered and safe, he heard the final two shots. It's all in his report. How did he leap over the back, of johnsons car while the other agent's behind, and in Kennedy's car did nothing.
Then about the agents in the front seat of the presidential car, The president, said quite clearly "My God, I'm hit" before he passed out. Then the driver practically stops, and looks back, like he is waiting......... "Oh there it is, the kill shot. Punch it." Almost like he was expecting it. They LET our President get assassinated! Then emory roberts radios back to johnsons car "They got him. They got him." (interesting choice of words).Watch this and learn a little, about how we lost our country.
John Kennedy was an incredibly brave soul, so was Bobby.
More than one of us knows what is really going on with our country, and how we lost it, so many years ago. Study and decided for yourself. Everything is out there.
But stand up and tell the American people the truth, and they (the ones really in charge) will KILL you. (Make it look like anything. (Heart attack, car accident, lone gunman) WE better wake up.
They want a bunch of uniformed, obedient workers, that believe all the crap they tell you.
And don't forget to pay your taxes so they can waste our hard earned money, with NO accountability..
