Last year I built two raised garden beds using these anchors as well as the stacking joints. I didn't use the composite timbers. I instead used 2X6 redwood planks treated with hemp oil. Since I stacked the boards two high I was concerned the soil would seep out from between the boards, so I lined the the beds with landscape fabric that I stapled in. The boxes turned out beautifully and the brackets made the whole process really fool-proof. I love that I can easily replace individual wood planks down the road (if need be) without taking the whole bed apart.

Since I had the wood cut at the lumber store the only tools I needed were a screw driver and a rubber mallet.
Building 2 4'x6'x12" beds took me about a day from start to finish and I loved that I didn't have to engineer the corners myself (no help from my husband).

Worth noting is the fact that my husband and I moved the garden beds yesterday so that we can expand our garden in another part of the yard. The brackets made the move easy and the beds set up nicely in their new location. Not sure if we could have moved them as easily if I had built solid boxes.
