This review is from: Frame Saver Aerosol Can with Spout, 4.75oz (Misc.)
If you have a steel framed bicycle that you ride in all weather conditions, you need this product. Coats the inside of the frame with a thin waxy coating, and it really does work - an amazing amount of product comes out of this little can, and it gets *everywhere* (as you can tell if you forget to tape over a hole in your frame when applying - do it outside!)
I can't comment on how well it actually protects from rust as I've only started using it but it certainly has to be better than nothing. I've heard that people are also using Boeshield T-9 T-9 Premium Metal Protection for the same purpose; I have no comment on which will work better but they are about the same price, so that isn't a real consideration. But if you're doing a major service on your bike every couple years and you clean the inside of your frame and reapply it should last for a good long time. On the same subject, you are greasing your seatpost when you put everything back together, yes? All the protection in the world doesn't do any good if you're getting water down into your seat tube (and worse yet, your old school loose ball bottom bracket...) and stuck seatposts suck. |
