- Kill Da Wabbit -

As in the movie, your nemesis Judge Doom has it out for the poor 'toons. He's kidnapped Roger Rabbit's wife Jessica, and has plans to take over Toontown.

As the floppy-eared hero, you must enlist the help of familiars like detective Eddie Valiant, Baby Herman, Bennie the cab and more if you're to save Jessica and restore Toontown to it's rightful owners.

- The Game Play -

Levels, referred to as "Scenes", are played out in a top-down view akin to the early Zelda series. Though there's no leveling up, you will collect various items to help you best a boss or deal with those dang weasels. Each level is concluded with a boss fight, small cut-scene and password for the next.

The graphics (shading, sprite size, backgrounds) all look excellent here. Sound is nice with some pretty good, though largely forgettable, tunes. The few available sound-effects maintain a good "cartoony" mood.

Boss fights aren't too tough, but will require some maneuvering if you're to leave victoriously. Losing all health means restarting the level, however a few refills await you at Eddie Valiant's (and are replenished at the beginning of each new level). The time spent between passwords is relatively short, so you won't lose much if you have to re-try one.

- Conclusion -

Though not the best Game Boy game out there, Who Framed Roger Rabbit manages to improve drastically on it's NES counterpart while providing a short but pretty fun little romp. For fans, this one's a no-brainer. Everyone else can place this a bit lower on their list.
