I spent a lazy saturday afternoon watching this video for some knowledge of construction. I am interested in doing light handyman, remodeling work at my house, so this video was definitely beyond my knowledge. But I decided, why not learn something new. What I saw were two old guys framing a one story house and they were very fast in what they did, but very accurate and knowledgeable. After I watched the video I did a google search of the authors and found out the older brother was born around 1930 and has been doing framing work for all his life. The guy is a PRO. Anyone looking to do framing work should take a look at this video. For someone with absolutely no knowledge, this video may be a bit complicated. The video is more suited for someone with some "hands on" work, and some carpentry skills. 5 stars.

After watching this DVD I felt like someone who had discovered the magicians secret. Well put together, excellent video work, excellent explanations.

If you want to build a shed or a house this is the DVD to get.

This video on "Framing Walls" is one of the best home construction instructional videos I have seen. This is practical material presented in a clear and easy to follow format, by a man that is obviously an master carpenter. We are beginning construction on interior walls within our business and wanted to try our hand at it. This video demystifies the process and gave us all of information and time saving tips we need.

One thing that should be noted, this video was intended to be a companion to the book "The Very Effective Carpenter" and references that more information on certain subjects can be found in the book. Unfortunately, the book appears to be out of print. This does not really take much away from the video since every thing is still clearly demonstrated in the video.

As they say, the devil is in the details and Larry Haun slays the devil. Mike Holmes is good but when you need to know how to do the fine details without taking a semester course in home building Larry's DVDs are great. I know Larry Haun is not a spring chicken but I would really like him to do more "how to videos"...excavating, pouring a concrete foundation, vapour barriers, shingling, siding etc. I would buy them all.

Larry Haun is a genius. He is very informative in his delivery on what framing is all about! I just couldn't get enough of how well he takes you through the steps at such a way as to leave you saying to yourself "Wow!". I truly recommend this product to those who are looking for a great teacher in framing walls.
