4.0 out of 5 stars Good Message for Kids of All Ages, June 18, 2003

I am an elementary school counselor, who is always looking for good children's books. Colman's message about treating animals compassionately is important for children to learn. The book's zany characters, who come in all sizes and shapes, reflect real life. This helps children to accept themselves when they are less than perfect. The story's clever rhyming will make children want to read this book again and again. I would recommend this book for any library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Francine Appeals to Big and Little kids, June 12, 2003

As a Hallmark artist and a dog lover, this book really got to me. Anyone who is sensitive to the feelings of dogs will appreciate this warm and funny story with it's wild and crazy characters, colors, patterns and perspectives. The conversational rhyming was playful and funny. Both big and little kids will love this book.

Sheer Fun! The verses and the hysterical eye-popping pictures in this crazily quirky book really deliver its underlying important message with zing. Colman's aesthetic sensibilities and one of a kind mind shine brightly!

The story is very cleverly written, nicey intergrated with the artwork. Good message to kids and adults on kindness to animals.

Fresh illustrations and original layouts, great use of color. Love the use of collage and computer manipulation on character solutions, and backgrounds. Nice use of typography.

(REAL NAME)
Francine Francine The Beach Party Queen is a delightful story of a dog seeking what we all desire in life - love and affection. The story is written in clever, conversational verse and is nicely illustrated with computer-generated artwork that has a very fresh, modern and original look to it. This is a fun book that kids are sure to enjoy. I think Ms. Colman has another bestseller on her hands.

Francine explodes with whimsical and quarky illustrations. Neat pictures are not all this book has to offer though, the fun writing style is full of suprise as well as depth. Any parent out there who wants to teach thier kids to respect thier pets should make this book a part of the family. Thanks Ms. Coleman
for another great addition to my kids bookshelf!
