The latest english edition of the Blake & Mortimer series,
By Michael R. Brown (Tamarac, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Francis Blake Affair: Blake and Mortimer 4 (Adventures of Blake & Mortimer) (Paperback)
Let's make a few things clear. While Cinebooks has this as their 4th volume in the B&M series they are printing, this is really 13th volume!!!! They even included a list of all the albums in the back of this one. And its the first one NOT done by EP Jacobs, who created the series. I really wish they would focus on reprinting the EP Jacobs volumes before moving to the post-Jacobs stuff (done after he died). This volume, while enjoyable, is more a counter-intelligence spy story, then the SF-theme stories of Jacobs. Overall good, (Van Hamme DID do the excellent Code XIII stories), but would like to read more Jacobs stuff. The next planned volume is yet another non-Jacobs story: v15 Strange Encounter. They do plan on reprinting SOS Meteor after that one, and its a Jacobs album. Here's hoping we see all 12 Jacobs B&M albums. |
