The first in a series detailing the passengers departing San Francisco during the Gold Rush era. These lists have been abstracted from the pages of the newspaper 'Alta California'. 5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific resource fo San Francisco history & genealogy, July 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: San Francisco Passenger Departure Lists, Vol. I: September 30, 1850 to December 31,1850 (Paperback)
Since the first volume of this series appeared, I have added each one to my reference library. Not only do they deal with an era of San Francisco history & genealogy which is very difficult to pursue, but each book is filled with thousands of names of early arrivals (and then departures) to California after the start of the Gold Rush. I would recommed each of these volumes as a major resource of information previously hidden in old newspapers.
