"San Francisco (Be sure to Wear Flower in Your Hair)" was written and produced by John Phillips for Ode Records in 1967. Scott McKenzie, an American singer, sang the vocal, while John Phillips played the guitar, his wife Michelle the handbell and Joe Osborn the bass. It became a Top 10 hit in the U.S. and number one in the U.K. The lyrics were those of peace and love and the song was generally regarded as an anthem of the "Hippie Movement" in the 60's. Life must have been a lot more interesting in those days.
