I LOVE LOVE dinnerware. To the point of it being an addiction. I have cheap plates, expensive and sets that are right in the middle. The best when it comes to lifetime warranty and availability will always be Lenox; but with Lenox you are also paying for that warranty up front in price. These plates are beautiful (at least to our family) and considered to be on the lower end of middle for price and quality. Packaging from the company is severely lacking as I have mentioned previously in my other reviews with different products that have been ordered. These were packaged the WORST. They arrived in the carton that came from the company and flat thin cardboard pieces to 'supposedly' keep the dinnerware from clanking together. Unfortunately for us, two of the dinner plates arrived broken and I have not been able to locate if there is any sort of warranty available for items that arrive damaged. Please keep that in mind if ordering from another company besides Amazon.
Upon further review of the contents, I found that there was not any literature enclosed to the prospective consumer. They do not state where they are made, materials, warranties... anything! This truly turned me off as someone who loves to have all the information at my fingertips or at least pointing me towards a website where I can read on the product.
As for the dinnerware, it is beautiful, simple, understated with a tiny bit of humorous flair. The flair is that small wave or ripple on only one side of the plates and soup bowl.Read more ›
This is a heavy set. Our daughter calls the cups, "Hagrid cups"(from Harry Potter fame). This may be a plus or minus if you're looking instead for fine, delicate dinnerware. The designs are uniform. They indent slightly the middle of one edge; the large cups offer a square look with big, looping handles. My wife likes them for her coffee.
Dishwasher and microwave safe, they take a fair amount of space in the washer and cabinet. They remind me of the dishes that one gets at a fancy, smancy restaurant where they give one these beautiful, big plates and center a small, dollop of food with one thin asparagus stick and a parsley sprig.
Load them up with your favorite food and enjoy. A good price.
Moving past initial shock, handling these dishes was a feat. They are heavy-duty...and heavy. Every piece, including the mugs. Which brings me to one disappointment. The handles of the mugs seem daft to me. While the mug itself seems substantial, the handles seem flimsy and the opening of the handle is so large that finding a good grip is challenging at best. And I have *large* hands, so I feel for smaller-handed persons.
This is where I should veer off and mention that one of my mugs came with an entire arm broken off and when I contacted the company (yes, Francois et Mimi), they were very gracious and promptly made it right. So, there's some peace of mind knowing that there are real people available should something go awry.
Now, back to this set. Drinking from the mug is another wonderment. I've gotten into the habit of drinking from the *corner* as trying to drink full-on leads to spills and dribbles and other unsightly mishaps. The dinner plate is huge. In fact, the dinner plate rarely gets used at all. They sit in the cabinet because the dessert plate is more than adequate for serving a normal-sized meal. And finally, the bowls, if you can call them that. They are not very deep, but they are perfect for a single scoop of ice cream with some chocolate/caramel glaze lightly drizzled about, or for a *single* cup serving of soup or cereal (with milk).Read more ›
I found the dinnerware to be quite affordable for everything that you receive. There are 4 large plates, 4 medium sized plates, 4 bowls, and 4 cups. It's perfect set for a small family of four or for a couple that would chose to entertain perhaps one set of parents or two close friends. Though, the price is quite nice if you so choose to add another set to your collection.
The dishes have a good weight to them. They are smooth and definitely made from high quality stoneware. The dishes are also FDA Certifided Lead & Cadmium Free. I've used the dishes numerous times and ran them through the dishwasher with no issues. Also the dishes are microwave safe and don't overheat like other dishes I've used in the past.
The design is very nice but I will state the mugs are a bit tricky to drink out of unless you are taking small sips or drinking out of a corner. The largest plate in this set I also found would fit in my microwave but due to the squarish shape, it would not rotate on the turntable. The wave design has a corner where you'll need to make sure the dishes are lined up to stack them in your pantry. Also I found the wave design corner to be the most ideal place to carry the dish from when taking to or from the table.
The issues that I had with this set are very minimal and doesn't take away from the collection overall very much.Read more ›

This set originally came but, the smaller plates were all cracked. But, I'm writing based on what I did receive. The cups are large and square. Read morePublished 14 months ago by TRFB

I love these plates! they are classic with the twist of being square and having the "wave" - no problems drinking out of the square cups.Published 24 months ago by Seveen Jaja
