This is one of a half-dozen recycled, repackaged and regurgitated reissues of some of Franco's worst films of his latter career (1998 -2005), and that's really saying something. As a budget-line way to catch some of Jess's notoriously insane and insipid releases, forfeit a fistful of brain cells as you comatose, forever alienate anyone who views them with you and irretrievably lose hours of your life, this is a good value for the cash. If this isn't appealing to your senses, cease reading now and find something of merit in his earlier works from the 60's and 70's, `cause almost everything beyond that is a MST3K episode that hasn't yet happened. Here's the down-lo on these cinematically cheesy, sleazy and uneasy excuses of celluloid sewage:

MARI-COOKIE AND THE KILLER TARANTULA (1998) Down by the docks, a very enterprising but dangerous element is making life miserable for Sheriff Marga (Michelle Bauer). But she's distracted at the moment by a series of puzzling kidnappings that is plaguing her church parish. Could the culprit be the mysterious Queen of the docks? Or could it be an even more sinister figure - the Killer Tarantula? Sheriff Marga is in a race against time and the evildoer as she attempts to interview as many suspects as she can before they too disappear.
The Pros - Michelle Bauer in a black hat, smoking jacket and g-string, and Liana Quigley in a barely-there bikini.
The Cons - Virtually everything else on display.
This is another of Jess's home videos that lacks anything of interest for the viewer, due to the horrid execution of ideas and a who-gives-a-s*#t-about-plot-or-budget-or-audience attitude here- the Tarantula is a toy with a cut-out face on it, for chrissakes... this a new low, even for Franco, and we've already adjusted the bar as far as we can...
