This is one to just stick in the CD player and let it run... It's a great soundtrack for your life when you're sitting around the house working on something, like we always are. Our work is our play here at our house, and this music is the best for both. It is at once relaxing and invigorating (sounds like I'm talking about a massage, huh). Great beats, kind of psychedelic, groovy in the most modern and positive sense of the word.

This is an amazing album, and I can't figure out why there is not more information about it or him? Regardless this is one of the my favorite albums of all time, and that is not a designation i throw around lightly.
Although it is almost entirely instrumental I feel a hip-hop vibe from this album. It is perfect for any occasion and is rightfully sub-titled "beats to blaze to." In any case this is definately one well worth every penny, and i give it my full backing and reccomendation.

I'm at club Lush on Sunset in L.A. supporting some of my homegirl's friends throwing a party. I am not from out here. Hip Hoppers where I'm from are usually black. This party was full of yuppies and a white guy with dreads was the DJ. I'm like "who's this cat?" Nothing spectacular about his live playing. So I'm chillin'. I pick up a flyer that says he has an album out, so I ask him about it and he hands me one free.

I almost want to go find him and pay him. This is some of the trippiest hip hop I have ever heard. I cannot explain it, you just have to go and hear the samples. This is something you smoke to, drink to, or think to. I prefer the latter. His music inspires me to write my emotions into my book of poetry. No lie. I was utterly shocked at this man's work.

Frane's Fantastic Boatride is part of my daily soundtrack, as well as his other Beats to Blaze to volumes. I'm a raft guide so I love the water theme of this album. It's perfect for chilling after I get off the river or just whenever. I find myself bored with all of my music and constantly going back to this. The groovy feel of it, along with the Eastern influences make this such a unique and awesome electronic album. If you can find it, I also highly recommend Frane's Live Smoke Shop CD, which I scored on an underground hip-hop web site a few years ago.

This album has a beautiful unique sound of it's own. Franes more recent releases are fine, but this is his masterpiece. I cannot explain it, you just have to listen to the smoothness of the tracks and hear the flawless samples that have been added. This is something you can truly chill to ...Each listen is special because you can tune into a different layer of the album. The samples include storytelling, hypnotic noises and unspeakable subtle funkiness. As an owner of literally hundreds of classic albums I have to say this is definately in my top ten. I cannot recommend strongly enough that you get a copy of this genius.

I've had this CD since it first came out. It got a rave review from Mixmag, which I highly respect, so I had to special order it to a CD shop. I was very pleased. It appeals to almost all audiences, so even if your friends say they "don't like electronic music," they may find themselves grooving to it. It is a little "trippy," and may give you some flashbacks to your younger, more, uh, rebelious days, but it certainly does play like a journey through a magical place full of head bobbings. DJ Frane's other albums play much the same and are all great and don't seem to grow tiresome.
