Book Description

A brilliant woman, a couple of mad scientists, and an erotic experiment with shocking results…

Vascular surgeon Dr. Rachel McBride knows she’d be insane to pass up the chance to work on Julian Kilmartin’s cutting-edge research project. The reclusive neurologist has been the object of her submissive daydreams since residency, and time and distance have only strengthened the dark compulsion.

To complicate matters, a former lover who was all too aware of her attraction to Julian is also on the team. Charmingly obnoxious Dr. Colin Carter was Julian’s protégé back in the day, and nothing appears to have changed…or has it? There’s an earnestness to Colin now, an urgency she’s never before seen in him.

When she accepts the offer and travels to Eastern Europe, Rachel discovers that research is only part of her job description—and her total submission is only the beginning of the sexual excesses Julian and Colin will demand from her.

This book has been previously published.

Warning: You should assume any Robin L. Rotham book contains BDSM elements, anal play, and every possible ménage à trois permutation. Additionally, FrankenDom contains mad scientists, real dungeons, whips, chains, spanking, a variety of taboo fantasies, mild puppy play, electrical devices in uncomfortable places, humor, and an intimidating ratio of sadists to masochists.

1.0 out of 5 stars Author really needs to research D/s subculture December 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Contains spoilers!

I would love to say that I cannot describe this book because of it's complex nature; however, that is far from the truth. From the description, it seemed like the author was really going to take it to some place dark, Gothic, and disturbingly sexual. Unfortunately, she really fell short. Furthermore, the sex in the book was extremely far from erotic, and it felt like it was completely pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable in a D/s relationship.

In the description, a research project is discussed. While it does appear in the book, it almost felt like a ruse by the author to get people to read it. I am reluctant to even call it a vehicle for the plot. With the build up it was given and the interesting things that surrounded it, the author just kind of let it fizzle out. There was such an interesting story caught up in the whole idea of transplanting a body, the ramifications, and so on. However, she didn't even touch it! Not to mention the fact that she could have pulled in more elements of Frankenstein and even caused Jordan to have issues with the body memory of a child rapist. Granted, it would have been extremely dark; however, it might have given the story a little depth.

The sex was gritty, guttural, disturbing, and downright disgusting! There was nothing the least bit sexy or appealing about it. I will be the first to admit that I do not know tons about the BDSM lifestyle; however, I felt that this book crossed the boundaries of what would be considered acceptable. The fact that Julian would not discuss limits with Rachel and refused to accept limits she put seems to be a big no-no. According to Submissive Guide ([...]), a Dom needs to ask the submissive's limits.

5.0 out of 5 stars FrankenDom DOM-DOM-DOM-DOM......DOM! October 31, 2012
By Dawn
Format:Kindle Edition
FrankenDom made me tremble, gasp, scream, and beg for more, author Robin L. Rotham created a twisted tale filled with dirty Doms, wicked torture/pleasure devices, and a emotional ride that will arc your senses. You not only get (mad/wicked) scientists and doctors driven to complete a procedure you also get a layered loved story that will have you curling you toes and gripping your reader. This is dark, edgy, and intense not for the faint of heart - violet wands, puppy play, bondage, and submission.

5.0 out of 5 stars FrankenDom...Frankly it was amazing!!! November 12, 2012

If your've read Robin L. Rotham's books before you're not bothering to read this review because you already know her books are a guaranteed great read. If she's a new author for you and your finger is hovering over the buy button just go ahead and give it a push...I promise you won't regret it.

Frankendom is a twist, a seriously kinky BDSM twist, on the classic Frankenstein story. The author goes places that will leave you catching your breath, squirming in your seat and reading through the pages so fast you'll want to go back and read it again. I read a limited number of BDSM books only from my favorite authors. In the hands of someone less skilled, BDSM in books can just fall flat for me. No character development, no emotionally gripping storyline. All spank, no emotional bite. They're so heavy, they can bring you down.

Let me assure you Ms. Rotham is a master! I loved the characters and their relationships with one another. The heroine completely gives herself over to the heros in ways you can't imagine and that wouldn't have worked for me if there wasn't a real, trusting and passionate relationship established. And you'll laugh, I promise. This book will take you through every emotion, each one helping to bulid a well-crafted story.

So please let me implore you again...hit the buy button. If you're still not sure, if I told you this book was scorching, make your heartbeat feel like a jackhammer in your chest, hot...would that make the decision easier? I still need to fan myself off just thinking of some of the scenes from this book and I read it weeks ago. now your going to read it I'm sure. ENJOY!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind blowing! November 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is not for the faint hearted. It has some hardcore BDSM. That being said: My very first Robin L Rotham book and it will not be my only. I am in awe. This book simply blew me away. I first became aware of this book from some Twitter chatter between Eden Bradley and R.G. Alexander. Well, if two of my favorite authors were excited about a book, then I just knew I would want to read it. When the chance was offered to review it I couldn't say yes fast enough.

Oh. My. God.

This book was intense. I fell in love with the characters. In the beginning, there is a scene where Rachel arrives at the castle. I can't describe how I love it when an author describes a scene to such perfection that it comes alive in my mind and I am right there. I was Rachel, getting out of the limo and looking around at the slightly foreboding castle that was to become my home; uncertainty thrumming through my body as I wondered what I had gotten myself into. And it only got better from there.

I am not going into too much detail about the book. It is something you must experience for yourself. I will tell you there is raw passion, undeniable love and it is an emotional rollercoaster. I experienced such emotion reading this book. I have read hundreds of books so far this year. Of all the books I have read there are only 4 others that have affected me like Frankendom. Bared to You by Sylvia Day, Sanctuary by Eden Bradley, Geared for Pleasure by Rachel grace (aka R.G. Alexander) and Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan. Now I am adding Frankendom to that list. My list called Books I may never get over. For real, you can look it up on my Goodreads. I have a shelf with that name.

And can I just say that the day I read it, I was tweeting about it to Robin and Eden. Our chatter caught the eye of Carly Phillips and she bought the book because of it. I just love the power of social media! Hope this review can help sell more of this wonderful book.
