Excellent tumbler for most any reloader.,

I bought this a few months ago. I've probably run it for around 24+ hours and around 800 cases or so. Not a whole lot. However, it does an excellent job. I use Midsouth Shooter's case polish with uncooked rice as my media. I'm cheap. Anyway, this combination has yielded excellent results and I'll keep doing it. I quickly replaced the wingnut with a nicer knob. Nothing wrong with the wingnut, I just like the knob better. I do like the clear lid so that I can see how the brass is looking as it swirls inside. Overall, I am pleased with the amount I spent on it and I think it'll work for years for me. Brass I've tumbled includes 9mm Luger, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .38 S&W Cartridge, and .30-30 Winchester.
To separate the rice from the brass, I dump the whole pile of rice/brass into a collander that sits on top of a mop bucket. Takes a minute or so to separate it all out depending on the amount of brass. Just shake it around good.

Great tumbler at a great price.,
This review is from: Frankford Arsenal Quick-n-Ez Case Tumbler (Sports)
This tumbler has worked flawlessly for me, I use this along side a Lyman tumbler and run them both some weeks 24 hrs a day. This tumbler has a larger capacity than the Lyman and cleans just as quick. I sell about 10,000 cases on a weekend and am very impressed by the durability and how well this works. Just ordered 2 more!

While this isn't the best tumbler on the market, it certainly gets the job done! I polished about 400 rounds of 9mm casings to a highly polished finish in about 2 hours with Lyman Treated Tufnut media. You can't beat the price-most other tumblers are nearly double the price. The only thing that I would recommend is purchasing the rotary media separator. It's a little loud, but it should be expected. It's a perfect tumbler for the beginning ammunition reloader.

This tumbler is great. You can have it up and running minutes after unpacking. It does a tremendous job and I am very pleased. It's perfect for the small hobby reloader. The noise factor is a non-issue for me. I like everything about the unit and am certain it will last my lifetime. OK, now the "rest of the story."
I received this tumbler June 9. I actually placed the order May 26 and it shipped out of Lexington, Kentucky on May 28th. So, it took nearly two weeks to arrive. Oddly, FedEx carried it cross country for the Post Office. Yep, you read that right. The USPS contracted with FedEx to do the actually shipping. Tracking records show it left Salt Lake in the wee hours June 2 but it didn't show up in Idaho Falls for SIX DAYS! It's a 3.5 hour drive from here to SLC. Go figure. I was extremely frustrated with the whole shipping SNAFU. Beware. Now, here's a tip. Go to a big box pet store and buy lizard bedding. You can probably get a 10 quart bag for $12-$13. It's finely ground walnut shell and it's far cheaper and works better than the ground walnut shell you would buy at a gunshop or a big box sporting goods store. I'm not even using any chemical additive in the lizard bedding and the casings are turning out beautifully bright and clean. One 10 quart bag is a huge amount of tumbling media and should last the average small reloader a really long time.

Quiet(ish), not bouncy, tubs not easily interchangeable,

Quiet(ish), not bouncy, tubs not easily interchangeable. I don't see how these could be made any quieter - I put it in the shop restroom and closed the door and you can barely hear it. Does not jump around even sitting loose on concrete. I bought 2 extra tubs so I did not have to clean out the tub as I went to finer abraisives. Not really designed to swap easily .It requires unbolting 3 bolts while not loseing the nuts that sit loose in plastic inserts.Basically it needs to be inverted to work on which is a little awkward with a full tub.The instructions say to use one tub and swap the media.
The top wingnut is cheap and awkward and hard on the fingers and as others have mentioned, go to the hardware store and get a nice plastic knurled knob if you are brave...The waranty says that if you modify the unit it voids your waranty. Also the inst. says you cannot use any liquid or it will void your warranty.Dry polish? A little bird told me the action can be enhanced using a cheap plastic upside down funnel on the center bolt (with a spacer). But of course you will never dare modify this or you will go straight to hell and be punished forever with dry abraisives!

I was in the market for a tumbler. I found this one at $39.95 in stock with free shipping, so I figured I'd give it a try. This tumbler is well built, resonably quiet (Hence the 4 rating) has a large bucket and works very well. It sits on the bench without walking. You won't be let down with this purchase.

I tumble my jump rings for making chainmaille,

I make chainmaille jewelry. After a lot of research about various tumblers, my husband got me this tumbler. I use it with rice for polishing my jump rings and finished pieces. Yes, rice. The cheapest kind I can get.
After 2-4 hours of tumbling, my jump rings come out incredibly polished. I've only used it for aluminum and copper thus far but the aluminum was my main reason for wanting the tumbler. The supplier I used to buy from's rings are super-shiny but the rings are very soft and hard to work with. The new supplier I went to does not polish their rings so they are dull but a few hours in the tumbler fixes that. It's noisy but I've not had any other tumbler so I cannot compare the noise to any others. I put it in the bathroom and shut the door. It muffles the sound enough that it's no where near as annoying as the washer or dryer running.

I ordered this on April 14 and received it April 26 with super saver shipping. I used it for the first time last night and polished around 400 casings in 2 hours. The brass came out clean and smooth using walnut shell media. As long as the motor holds up I think I will have it for years and would definitly buy it if I had to do over again.

Not only is this great at this price but great at twice the price. Does it compare to $200 tumblers? Of course not but it dies easily compare to those in the $100 range for how it works and how durable it is. Unless your doing thousands of rounds at a time this is one great buy. On the down side it might be slightly more noisy than I like but not so much that it is a big deal.

Have used it now a couple of times, about 200 .45 brass first then about 150 9mm. So far it has worked well. The 4 star rating is strickly for the noise it makes, have used quieter machines in the past. But overall a good bang for the buck!
