Probably recorded in the sixties, Frankie Avalon`s "Frankie Avalon`s Christmas Album" is as good (or at least up there) as many crooner christmas cd`s out there. Perry Como, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, and Dean Martin's christmas styles is what you`ll get here. Actually, Vic Damone is probably who Franke sounds like the most here.

Now, Frankie's vocal delivery isn't as pure or defined as those mentioned and seems to lack a little in the way of emotion and singing on key, but it is still a pleasant, deep, and enjoyable voice that if you want a christmas crooner offering that isn't one of the norms you usually hear at christmas time, then try Frankie's christmas cd.

Of special note on this album and perhaps the best things about it is the wonderful orchestra that backs up Frankie Avalon. Some wonderful arrangements and at times, lush strings to help this album get one into the christmas mood. A decent backing chorus also adds to the beauty of this cd.

Just listen to "THE CHRISTMAS SONG," "I`LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS," "HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS," and the other 9 songs and you`ll know why I say this cd is up there (in general) with some other crooner cd's.

Half the songs you`ll probably know, the other half you most likely won`t, so you get some great refreshing new ones, but also terrific old standards.

While an album (cd) like 'Perry Como's - Seasons Greetings' is still a better christmas offering, this 'Franke Avalon's Christmas Album' is a very fine and fresh crooner christmas cd that I recommend with 5 stars.

Avalon's Christmas album totally captures the spirit of the season. The arrangements are all top-notch and so are Avalon's vocals. His range is truly impressive, especially in light of the fact that his critics have been saying for years that he can't sing. They should get a copy of this truly enjoyable Christmas album and reasses their evaluation of his talent. Finally, it should be noted that the sound on this CD is outstanding. Every string and background voice is crystal-clear.

Frankie Avalon sings Christmas songs Great and this CD is the Best.Frankie sings sincerely and with romantic and family oriented way that people of all ages enjoy.If you like Frankie Avalon and romantic songs then you will like this CD.Frankie Avalon is the Best singer.He should record more CDs.He is talented.

I have always been a huge Frankie Avalon fan and think this CD is very good. I was actually hoping this CD was done more recently as Frankie's voice at the present is even more enjoyable as can be witnessed in Grease and his more recent CD, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which by the way, in my opinion is great. I am very glad I purchased this Christmas CD and beleive it would enhance anyones Christmas musical collection.

This CD is a wonderful, truly timeless collection of new Christmas songs infused with several familiar Holiday favorites. Each song stirs it's own Christmas magic with a beautiful score, which sounded to be performed by a full orchestra. The amazing score, plus Frankie's tender, heart-felt renditions of each song make this CD a Christmas must-have. My only regret is that there are only 12 tracks - can we lobby for a sequel?

Ok. I'm only 36 but this really is a favorite from my childhood and the original album graces my album collection thanks to my mom. I have to say my very favorite track off the entire album is "Christmas and You". The album only comes out once a year but it is a constant play at my house.

Very pleased with the Christmas album by Frankie Avalon. All the songs are very soothing in their sound
quality and make good backround music. Both the familiar favorites and one or two new songs are enjoyable.
I have played this over and over.
