I just purchased the DVD and have watched it 3 times in a row. It is the bomb. I have been jamming for hours on end. Frankie B. and Maze are one of my favorite bands. The music just moves you and you cannot help but sing along and groove to the jamz. This is a must have. I only wish it was longer. I am now going to get the Live in Los Angeles DVD. You can never have too many. Good going guys!!!

I enjoyed this concert. This whole concert is all of that. Frankie B. and Maze truly rocked the show. Words cannot describe. Frankie just have raw talent to get you up out of your seat. I would recommend this album to anyone who likes this group of musicians. My favorite performances are Look@California and Feel that Feeling you're feeling. But the best performance is 'Look at Ccalifornia'. Frankie and Maze really rocked the show with this song. I love this song they really rocked the show with this song. I watch this dvd and jump out of my seat. The quality is pretty good also, Also, this dvd contains some bonus footage some bonus music videos with some of my other favorites by the group Never Let You Down, We Are One, and Back In Stride. I love this dvd if you like this dvd then I would recommend that you buy Frankie Beverly Live in Los Angeles and also I recommend any MAZE fan to buy this dvd .

I own over 40 dvd's and I have to admit Frankie Beverly's Live in New Orleans dvd audio sound quality does not measure up with any of them. This dvd sounds as if it was produced in mono format. This is not true stereo or dolby digital recorded material. For those that own a high quality system as I do, you will be highly dissappointed in the audio production and picture quality of this low production dvd. I have VHS recordings I've taped off tv that sounds better than this dvd. Frankie get your sound and production crew up to speed in recording and picture format for the great work you do in live performanances!

Having purchased the album, the cassette {twice} and now the DVD, I can truly say that I'm glad they released it!

No one can perform like Frankie and the boys do live, they have a simple set, but a sound that moves you into feeling like you're not at an arena, but that you're swept away to one of the biggest family reunions there has ever been; all that's missing is the bar-b-que, and this concert makes that happen in the luxury of your own living room or wherever you have a DVD player. The songs are done with the precision of a studio set, and the chemistry will make your jaw drop. With so many groups losing their focus as to how to please their fans, Maze knows right where to place their ears... right on our hearts. Buy the DVD!

the cd contains 9 live tracts, but the dvd has only 8. the song "the look in your eyes" is not on the dvd. this is the best song on the live album - i'm dissapointed but enjoyed the dvd.

It's a concert in your own livingroom. The music touch your soul, because he's singing from his heart. To know it was made in the city of New Orleans make me know that Maze know in New Orleans we always give a great feed back to them when they perform here. I recommend this DVD greatly! Waiting for Maze At the Essence festival July 4, 2004!!!!!!

After viewing several of their shows in New Orleans, including many Essence Music Festival appearences, this DVD is an example of the group's powerful following. Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly delivers true soul, exceptional vocals, refulgent lyrical expression, and instrumental harmony pleasing to both 'old schoolers' and 'generation x-ers'.

With all conviction, I believe that Maze has broken the boundary of both written and musical interpertation in Soul & R&B. Pop in the DVD, grab your favorite bevarage, move the coffee table, and prepare yourself for one helluva party.

Seeing the actual perfomance for an album that has such a special place in my heart is awe inspiring. It was the summer of '81 when my brother purchased the album. I was in the midst of my first love and about to start college at Southern University in my hometown of Baton Rouge, LA. This was the first live performance put on an album that I had ever heard and the sound was incredible. 22 years later the sound is even better. To see the magic and energy of the performance makes you smile. To top it off Frankie plays the guitar (well). I play so Frankie's already high stock (he has a legendary voice) immediately went up by 1000 pts. This group of professional musicians and friends are at the top of their game. I only wish the DVD had the encore performance (like the album). And they did it just 80 miles southeast of Baton Rouge. Wow!

Having a chance to see this concert again confirms this concert to be one black musics greatest live albums ever, period.
Since I have worn out my VHS copy and vinyl copies it's great to finaly get this on DVD, on the technical side the definition and clarity are superb, as far as the musical event goes, it speaks for itself. As a British Maze fan It's clear to see why the British went crazy when Maze made their first visit to the U.K.
Anyone buying this, sit back turn the stereo up loud and enjoy.

If only I could have been there.....what an excellent concert video. Frankie Beverly and Maze are truly fantastic, and the song list here is some of their best. Get it if you can!! I originally recorded this on VHS way back when it was shown on TV, not too far after the LP release. Somehow, someone recorded over it. :( I am so grateful this is on DVD now!
