I had a croquet set when I was young and had a blast with it, so I wanted my children to have the same kind of fun also. When we were setting up the game, I noticed the mallots were not very sturdy but thought oh well, will still be fun. I was so wrong. The plastic heads on the end of my mallot cracked and broke off on the first hit, the shaft on my daughter's mallot cracked in half when we were untwisting it, the balls are very light, and I could go on and on. In order to save time I will just say, DO NOT waste your money on this set. Is of very poor quality and certainly not worth the price. I expected more from Franklin.

This is not an "advanced" set. This is a set made for children, despite the pictures on the label. I am of average height for an adult and the mallets only reach to just above my knee. One round with this set and you will have a backache for the rest of the day. Amazon is great, but is NOT the place to buy a croquet set.

Read the reviews before purchasing so I knew the handles were short for adults. Since this was to be used by my young grandchildren, the set worked quite well. Did not like that the handles had to be removed to store the set in the carrier.
