I searched for this product all over and found it at my local Christian Book store. It contains the entire NIV. You can do searches and leave book marks so you may go back later. It also fits nicely into a pocket. There is also a rolodex. It is easiest and best to read on the smallest setting, displaying only 4 lines at a time but very clear. I keep it with me all the time so I may read it at any time.

The Power of the Word in your pocket,

I've owned the NIV-450 Pocket electronic Bible for nearly a year now, and is it a blessing! No matter where I am, I can read passages of Scripture and be edified and uplifted at the touch of a button. A bound Bible with print as large as the NIV-450 would be huge, but this little dynamo is the size of an index card! Also comes in KJV. A great gift for Bible scholar or layman. I highly recommend it!

I bought this as a tool and a toy. Walking to and from classes and going about my day I tend to have a lot of down time. Rather than waste it daydreaming, I just flip open my electronic bible and pick a verse to ponder. Great for meditation. It's not as intimidating as a big, thick bible and its easier to focus on one verse at a time. Use the four lines per screen setting for better readability.
Great buy.

I like the way this electronic bible works. I can enter a key word and find verses easily, or I can enter a verse or book name and read accordingly. It is very handy, light-weight and portable, more than my study bible. The one disappointment I have concerns the letter fonts style. Previously, I used a Franklin NIV with letter fonts that are easier to read. I am replacing that earlier version because it is now 15 years old and the letters are partially unreadable. This new one has additional features, such as a calculator, which I do not really need.

Awesome toy! Great tool! Can't figure out how I survived without one. If you ever plan on doing a bible study anytime, anywhere get one of these.

A Handy Dandy Little "Bible Calculator"!,

I have done 25 of those Rick Warren inductive Bible studies since 1990. I look up quite a few cross reference verses in my studies and this electronic Bible is very essential now that I started using it. I used to be on some sort of mailing list for Dallas Theological Seminary before, and they had advertised some sort of CD Rom Bible study library for $500.00. I did not have the money to afford it. And my computer did not have a CD Rom port. And I used to do alot of praying to God for these things. But once I had seen Jack Van Impe hawking the Franklin Electronic Bible oin TV for $25 more than what they sold it for at the Christian bookstore. He endorsed it and said he actually used it in his studies. I reasoned that if a rich televangelist like Jack Van Impe who can afford the best of computers and software in 1994 and can have anything he wants uses this, it is good enough for me!
I can look up individual verses, or use it as a concordance and scan for single words or combinations of words, too. If I just remember a key word in a verse, I can use the electronic Bible to find it most of the time. It sure beats out a bulky concordance or the incovenience of having to go to the computer all the time for something. I found myself actually having fun as I was enthusiastically searching for the occurance of a certain word in the Bible: And I likened it to playing with a $30.00 Coleco electronic football game in the early 80's!I run them batteries down in a hurry looking for stuff! I have gone through three of these electronic bibles since 1994. My only complaint is that the last one seems a bit flimsier than the others.

My mother-in-law is 75 years old and she has no trouble using this electronic Bible. she does not use the computer either. The directions to use this pocket electronic Bible are simple enough for her to read and she has had many hours of looking up passages and verses easily.

Don't Leave Home Without It,

I just received my Franklin Electronic Bible today. I have already used it for several references. It is so easy to use I haven't even read the instructions yet. Most people now days have cell phones and would turn around to go back home if they forgot it. This is how I expect the FEB should be. Don't leave home without it!!! I am already utilizing it in devotionals for quick reference. What a great item! Lightweight, fits in the palm of your hand more or less and easier on my eyes since I have restricted vision. I wanted one of these years ago when they first became available but the price was out of reach for me. Now it cost about the same as a decent hard copy of the bible however very compact and no flipping of pages. This is one item I am happy to see modern technology produce.

Excellent resource!,

I received this device for Christmas, and have already put it to good use at home, work, and at Church.
Just last night I was using it in a Bible study methods & interpretation seminar, and it worked great. I had already stored several bookmarks covering the verses in this portion of the study, so referencing them was a snap! |
