Multi-purpose Glue is awesome,

This review is from: Franklin International Titebond Liquid Hide Glue, 8-Ounces #5013 (Tools & Home Improvement)
I love this glue. It's not carried at my local home improvement store, so I usually purchase it via mail order. Not only is this a great product, but it works well in providing the "crackle" finish that is seen in lots of furniture/ craft finishes. I use it the same way I would any other crackle medium, only this product gives much better results. I have used it with household interior latex water based paints as well as with craft paints. NOTE OF CAUTION: This glue dries relatively fast, so give it your undivided attention when spreading it on.

I used this glue to attach two different violin fingerboards back to the neck of their instruments. It worked great.

The best type of ready-made hide glue. The alternative is to get the glue in dried form and mix it THEN keep it warm in a glue-pot. This is the far better method. It can be dissolved, so parts can be separated,if future repairs are needed.

Hide glue is hard to find. And, with this product, you don't need a glue pot.

The glue works great as there is no mixing or heating needed. It cleens up with water easily before it dries.

This worked like magic on my string instruments. The smell is awful, but its definitely worth not having to send my string instruments to a repair shop.

Its great that Titebond came up with this version of Hide Glue. Not having to deal with a glue pot is great. The glue bonds perfectly. Its light amber in color when it dries (i.e. you shouldn't be under the impression that it dries translucent). I haven't tried breaking a bond that I've created with this, so I can't comment on the ease or lack thereof in doing so. It gives you a fairly long time to work with your pieces before it sets. Which is definitely a plus.

I purchased this product to mix with flux and distilled water for the purpose of granulation fusing. It works great!
