This is a fun little phrase book. My son and I have been having fun comparing the languages on this. However, the Japanese is somewhat muffled, and cut-off in places. This is not a problem if you can read the translation. I thought there would be more phrases in it, but all in all it is a good little device.
I do wish it had a way to input what I would like to translate, but that is not how this device works.

Amazon Verified Purchase
1. The English to Spanish audio in many of the phrases is garbled to the extent I can't understand what is being said. A Spanish speaking friend also had difficulty understanding many of the phrases. My friend also found errors with some of the translations.
2. In many instances, my Spanish speaking friend states the delivery is much too fast to the extent those fluent in Spanish will have difficulty understanding the translation.
3. The above substandard performance qualities are inconsistent with the high quality associated with Franklin products. It doesn't meet their own specifications and certainly does not meet my expectations.
4. Complaint to Amazon has not been addressed by neither Amazon nor XcessBuy.

Amazon Verified Purchase
I purchased this for my son, he hopes to travel to Spain next year. The translator was a Christmas gift. He couldn't put it down. Loves it. Right out of the box it worked without any issues.

Franklin 16 Language Speaking Phrase Translator
The Translator is not working. It fails to charge its battery. The light of charging is only on for a short while then turning off by itself. I am just too busy to handle this. Read more

false presentation
not a translator,just a travel buddy if you travel to 50 countries a year. falsely advertized as a translator. useless to me.maybe i was suppose to read the fine print.
